  1. You're right. Nevermind. No need to get a guy's name right. It is all about Cepplur on this thread, anyway.
  2. Seriously............ it's not that hard. Kirilloff. One r, two l's and two f's. May as learn to spell it right, especially if you are a self proclaimed "real" Twins fan........
  3. Why is it that our management and FO are always seemingly the last people to figure out things that don't work... like Hildenberger closing?
  4. HBP, single (first to third), sac fly single, single (first to third), sac fly Berrios is a hard worker, and has discipline. He has "stuff". But his season results is a lot like Blackburn, and is no where near an ace. Maybe he will get better. But right now, he is overrated in my book. Twins set MLB record for 10 walk off homers given up. That is our bullpen, in a nutshell. Seems that the 9th walk off wasn't noticed, as it also set the record.
  5. Kirilloff. One r, two l's and two f's. May as learn to spell it right, right Maurer.........
  6. Of course the Twins should just get rid of him, and let him be a star for another team... like Ortiz and Gomez and Hicks and Garza and Loshe and ....... fill in the others. It's part of the plan to always stock prospects and wait until they almost make it and then do it all again. The endless loop.
  7. Let's see. Sliding. Throw you body on the ground, smoothly and at high speed, in fact, the fastest you can make your body go self propelled......... and don't practice? That would be over thinking? To learn and practice until it is second nature and you really can do the motor task without thinking? That is partly why a team that was called the fastest in MLB at the start of the season (and still would rank very high without Buxton) can't steal bases. And Molitor was a natural base stealer. Too bad it doesn't translate for his team. Golden Sombrero for Sano. Now below the Mendoza line again. Just shut him down already. Bregman, Bryant....... stars...... and Sano is a disaster.
  8. I will think that the Twins are doing fine when any of these suspects can be MLB everyday players, and hopefully, stars. I have seen too much expectation turn into nothing, or be traded away and turn into something somewhere else while we end up with nothing, to think that the Twins are "doing fine". Minor league ball really means closer to nothing than something.
  9. ... and there goes Berrios' perfect game, no hitter, and shutout. And with just 2 total outs, that didn't take long.
  10. Another perfect game going for Lopez.....
  11. Berrios' season ..... looking a lot like a Blackburn season, and not close to an ace. Sure did start out fine, though.
  12. Gimenez - "Derek has a great eye for pitching so that should be one area to look forward to as they move forward. Thad is great with people and relationships as well as advanced metrics." Derek picked new pitchers that bombed, and the report is also that these guys do not have people skills, but are "cold". Proof is in results. Belisle and Gimenez ........ I mean really.... just how inspired can a young player be with these guys as their (self?) appointed leaders?
  13. I love it! Linus talking about a security blanket. Spectacular!
  14. The Twins were a trendy pick to play for as a free agent last off season, and at reduced rates. But all those wonderful (right.....) free agents tanked, and so did the core.... Sano, Buxton, Kepler, Polanco out half the year, Santana all year..... Mauer back to mediocre.....Dozier totally regressed... and even Berrios centered in as a #3 instead of the upside that was anticipated. Now the Twins will be back to a very unattractive and uncertain option for free agents. I find it so comical that the Angels, a .500 team, can be considered terrible, but the Twins attractive. It takes a Twins' fan to come up with that. It is easy to do, I guess. Rose colored glasses. Hard to see the reality.
  15. May threw it right down the middle. 95 no movement. It was served up to be clobbered. Missed the low outside corner target completely.
  16. Can anyone direct me to a site that I can easily pull inherited runs scored and variations..... individual and team. These bullpen pitchers have been brutal to their teammates this year. I am curious to see just how bad it is, and compare to other teams and players. May's line doesn't look too bad, if you don't consider he let 4 runs cross the plate.
  17. This team didn't have room for Aaron Hicks. What a shame, and how foolish it was and is. 10 walks. Wouldn't it be nice if the farm was even close to ready when the get the opportunities. Call me depressed and disgusted with this team.
  18. Sano's horrendous slide stressed his knee and bruised his lower leg. That was the pain and pain show. That would have happened if he slid like that regardless of the intramedullary nail in his tibia. For what I have read about it post occurrence, nothing regarding the rod/nail has be compromised. (I have had one in my right tibia for 27 years. No problems. Even ran a marathon.....) Sano's problems seem to have everything to do with his habits, his commitment, his shape, and his approach, and very little, if anything, to do with the procedure.
  19. Gimenez batting .139 and playing first base. I thought we would see prospects if what is left of the starters are given that "desperately needed" day off.... Instead, we play a catcher that is a fill in at first base, that is hitting worse than Buxton! This is really a joke of a team now.
  20. Please. Can someone tell me just what the point is of having Belisle on this team? At 63-76, we are as good as the Mets.
  21. Went to the Dodger/Diamondbacks game last Thursday.... Escobar and Turner do a dance at third... pretty funny. https://www.mlb.com/dodgers/video/turner-escobar-have-fun-on-tag/c-2446733283?tid=21753540
  22. That was one horrible slide by Sano. Just because our guys choked in the first inning doesn't mean the game play of an opener is a bad evolution. Other than the ninth, or perhaps in a tie game in extras, an inning is an inning is an inning. Especially if they enter the game at the beginning of the inning. May just blew it. Trading Pressly was ill-advised. Prospects. A dime a dozen. Stories littered with hopes and dreams, when you already have what you want.
  23. Just because our guys can't step up, doesn't mean the opener isn't a good and valid game play. May just choked. An inning is an inning is an inning, except the 9th in a close game and extra innings. And a person that knows he is just going to go one doesn't have to pace himself. Plus, Sano should know how to slide better. That was a horrible slide. Now we traded one .160 hitting catcher for another, and he gets to play. This team really is achieving pathetic status.
  24. ??? Exactly. They tried to pass him through waivers, and he was claimed, and then the Reds did the same thing, and the Twins claimed him and tried again, and he was unclaimed. So instead of really letting him go, they made the move to take him back. They could have just not reclaimed him, and let him get on with his life and career. Just really let him go. Now it looks like they will have to, and that will be the best for him. He will probably end up in Japan or Korea, and get a chance to make some money. Truly a wasted year for him.
