    Sano is lost. So lost. Just what is the point of playing him anymore? And it isn't just his physical play. It is his baseball smarts. And I don't see that ever changing at this point.

    Franco doubles on a pitch high and outside off the plate. Donaldson boots an out. Wendle golfs a low and outside pitch in just the right spot through the infield. Tough inning for Gant. And then Sano is clueless in the field. This team is just asleep at the wheel.

    That was some fancy footwork by Refsnyder to drag his right foot across the base there.

    Looked like a tie to me. Certainly not something to overturn the on the field call. And lets face it, regardless of the fine throw by Polanco, he still would have had him if he didn't bobble the ball. That seems like a triple and an error to me. That is how I would have scored it. If no bobble, he would have been held at third. They base was taken because of the error.

    How many times have we seen our pitchers throw their first pitch meat and the opposing team jump all over it? The opposing team pitchers may do it, but our guys are taking that first pitch. We get stung time after time, but the pitchers are still wanting that first pitch strike so bad they make it easy, and the opposition is swinging. and nailing it.

    I hope Baldelli and the Twins' hitters were watching Kiermaier run. Our guys watch for a while on hits like that and then start running. Kiermaier was running hard out of the box. THAT IS HOW YOU PLAY BASEBALL, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU GET PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR DOING IT!

    I'm fine with Pineda taking the rest of the season off. Time to see some youth. And not minor league signings, and 2 month visitors. Let them sink or swim, and give us a product that points to the future. Fans deserve it, especially at home. Didn't they activate Joe Ryan for St. Paul already? That would be fun to see against Tampa. He did great in the Olympics. I am sure he wouldn't say he isn't ready.

    Like I said, I watch the games. I know what I have seen. And I like Donaldson a lot.

    That was Donaldson's pitch. Fastball right down the middle. Not even close to it.

    Stat me all you want, I have been watching the games, and Donaldson is not even close to producing what he was signed to produce. On the field, or at the plate. I think most free agents have been playing the game long enough to know that there is a very long leash, but no free ride. Perhaps the answer is to play him everyday, every inning, and give him every possible opportunity to prove himself, and when he goes down with injury, you have a spot to fill sooner than later. And I really like Donaldson, and his attitude, and his fire. I just want more than he can apparently produce these days (and what he contributed as a total for the last 2 seasons).

    I see we have another visitor on the mound. Great to have 35 year old minor league signing to check out for the future of the team. FO is setting the pace again. Good thing we have Miranda to get his 2 hits a game for St .Paul, eh?

    I must be an anomaly these days. I don't find MLB baseball, or most minor league and college ball, boring at all. I come too early and stay late. If the games go into extras, that is just more free baseball. As my three children grew up, they loved the games and baseball trips. When I lived in Charlottesville, Virginia, we would go to Baltimore each year, stay at the Renaissance, blocks away from Camden Yard in the Inner Harbor, which was where the Twins always stayed, too. Early shagging BP balls in the outfield stands, and autographs for the kids after the games. Stay for the whole series. Same in Tampa, Boston (we saw Ortiz hit numbers 51 and 52 homers of his Boston record 54 in September of 2006), and Minnesota, of course (games in Arizona, Colorado, St Louis, Atlanta - I must be leaving some out.... both Chicagos..... and NYCs). They have dirt from the Field of Dreams (the actual one, not the new one with stands), and ran around on the field, too. Today's game, or yesterday's games in the 60s as a kid, never bored. These changes to "speed up" the game are schlock, and a disservice to the game. It is our internet video culture with half second segments streamed together that I find boring. I found nothing "boring" about the game in Iowa, tonight. Not a damn thing. And it had a magnificent ending that rewarded all that was there and stayed until the end wherever they were and however they watched it. For the Love of the Game.......

    Graterol and Gibson pitched against each other in the middle innings of the Dodger/Phillies game yesterday. Graterol got the win, and Gibson the loss. Phillies had two starters and Gibson didn't come in until the 3rd inning and pitche 4.1 innings, and gave up 6 (3 earned, and one of his runners left on was allowed to score) and went to 8-4. Graterol pitched two perfect innings with 2 Ks in the 6th and 7th to go to 3-0. He got the win, even though he came in the game in the bottom of the 6th, and the Dodgers were ahead 3-2 and had been since the end of the 4th.

    I must be as dumb as you. But of course, I don't think you are dumb, or the way you communicated was dumb. Well thought out and to the point. We are allowed to break things down in discussion, Good points and post.
