  1. First manager that takes out his starter wins, wait that would mean our bullpen, never mind.
  2. I see Plouffe is a fan of my work . Baby boy: Theodore Winston James Plouffe. Kind of hard keeping up with all the Twins trade rumors at this point.
  3. I'd call up the Mets and try trading him today. We have more outfield/dh types than spots at this point.
  4. That shouldn't stop him from making the team better would it?
  5. Has Terry even traded any prospects in the Terry 2.0 era?
  6. Remember the good old days when people here would laugh and point fingers at how bad the White Sox were? They are now only 2.5 games behind the Twins. No need to be in a hurry to fix this team, is there?
  7. His money is not a big deal unless they use it as an excuse. The Twins value jumped from 580m to 880m in the last year because of a new TV deal. A sport money guy said on TV a few weeks ago every MLB team can afford a 120m payroll before they sell a ticket. Joe's contract is peanuts compared to all the money the teams are making now.
  8. "A bird in the hand," is yours, and it's not going anywhere unless you let it go. But if you leave it and go for "two in the bush," there is no guarantee you'll catch them, you might end up with nothing in the end. I'll take the proven major league player, you never know what those birds in the bush will do.
  9. 17 years as GM. Over 100 games under 500 with one playoff series win and that was 13 years ago. 6 playoff games won in 17 years and the last one 11 years ago. Time has passed him by. Please retire and don't give the job to Antony.
  10. Once Nelson called it a strike there is no appeal, read the rule book.
  11. Lucky Terry had his head in the dumpster the last few innings.
  12. He needs to stay on the field or all his talent and future is wasted.
  13. I just don't have any faith in TR at this point. When was the last time he made a good trade? Shannon Stewart, 10 years ago? Maybe May or Tommy Milone but those are iffy at this point and certainly aren't big impact trades.
  14. Nolasco for anyone would be a win-win, imo.
  15. There's the double play Dick has been hoping for, half inning late.
  16. Umpires do it to the Twins again.
  17. It is possible, but very rare, to win a game without any hits but it has happened. However, I think you are correct today Brian!
  18. Please read the rule book once a swing is called a strike there is NO appeal, none. The play is over! This has been beaten to death by Dick and others all year without knowing the rule. There is nothing in the rule book that says the bat has too cross the plate or the hitter must break his wrists, it's weather the umpire judges that the batter swung at the ball. It's his call and once he says he swung the play is over, no appeal. There can only be an appeal on a ball call, asked for by the defense.
  19. Any trade with decent prospects in it should be for a player that will be here at least thru next year, imo. The Twins are just as close to last place Clev. as they are to the Royals. No reason to go crazy now.
  20. What was Gardy's record against the Yankees?
  21. If only MLB would change the check swing rule none of this would have happened.
  22. Getting Wieters doesn't doing anything to fix the catcher spot for next year and we'd be right back with the same problem less a few prospects. If you want to fix it, which I agree with, do it right and get somebody that will be here a few years.
  23. Lucky they drafted Gibson rather than Trout.
  24. "Angels third baseman David Freese was hit by a pitch from Minnesota’s Mike Pelfrey last night and will be placed on the disabled list with a fractured in his hand, tweets Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com." I remember Dick going on and on last night about Freese faking and that he was not hit at all.
