    Gardy is rather old school and with more teams stepping into the modern era he may have a much smaller pool of teams to fit. Replacing Scioscia with Gardy doesn't make much sense they are very much the same guy. What would you really gain? I was thinking he'd like the Mets job but now they are playing well so they may not make the change. Still think the most likely spot is the White Sox!

    Stubbs would likely work or Bourjos is sitting on the bench for the Cards. He doesn't hit much but he'd really help the D. Send Vargas down for some work, he looks over matched, and bring up Hicks to play LF. Let Arcia and Hunter play RF and DH. It might be time to find out if Pinto is a player or not like Hicks.

    No slight intended SSO. Just miss Brian's pearls of wisdom. I always thought he did his best work when his mind was empty, by the way! It certainly was a Sisyphean effort by Brian the last few years.

    April 23, 1961. Third home game they played, Sunday afternoon. All I remember is the field looked so big and so green. We had gone to a Millers game the year before to see Yaz play that was a night game so the field didn't look so big. Really don't remember much else, its now a very long time ago. That happens when you get old! Getting old is better than the alternative, I guess.
