  1. You aren't wrong. The graph is Chacin last night, look at those called strikes off the outside part of the plate. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/cache/numlocation.php-pitchSel=468504&game=gid_2017_08_01_minmlb_sdnmlb_1&batterX=&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=&league=mlb&pnf=&zlpo=&cache=1.gif
  2. I guess it's my opinion it's not fair to fire Molitor mid-season based on the pitching talent he has had to work with. Doing it after the season gives a new manager and potentially sweet of coaches a fresh slate to work with.
  3. It's exactly the pitch you want Sano laying off on a 2-2 as well. It should have set up a full count where he was forced to their a strike, but gets gifted a K.
  4. I would like to see the difference in ball 2 and strike 3.... If anything ball 2 looked more like a strike.
  5. The right side was so wide open and of course Granite puts it about the only place where he could get doubled up.
  6. Even on a non-force DP? I would think it's ruled a sacrifice fly with a trailing runner out trying to advance?
  7. Sano made a helleva bare handed scoop and Mauer had a great dig at 1st, but he just beat it out. Now that double..... It was well hit, but Kepler did not play it well at all.
  8. I guess I don't have a problem with Gee. I'm guessing this will be his chance. I would assume he gets this shot and if he falters he will be DFA'd and released and not back to Rochester and one of the AA guys will be promoted. FWIW I would have my money on Gibson coming back up before we see Slegers added and called up.
  9. So what do you do in lower levels of baseball like say little league? Does the strike zone get higher and higher for each level you go? I highly doubt kids age 9 would have the same strike zone as Major League players.
  10. Gotta consider the Braves got out from under $4M or so from Garcia's contract as well.
  11. I say if we aren't spending the money on the ML club at this point, let's spend it on strengthening the rest of the system.
  12. Getting back SP Zack Littell anda lower level spec. Edit: Looks like the other piece is 26 year old lefty Dietrich Enns
  13. So 600+ AB is the threshold? Carlos Gomez had over 1000 AB and was a year older when the Twins essentially gave up on him and look what kind of player he eventually turned into. Buxton is 23 years old!
  14. Trading Buxton would certainly help the pitching staff RIGHT NOW, that's no question but that's not all that's at stake. Buxton is also only 23, on his way to a gold glove and has pretty damn high potential. Players that play CF like him with his tremendous speed are very few and far in between. Maybe I am just blinded by potential, but trading him now to me would seemingly be a huge mistake. There are other ways to acquire pitching.
  15. Well....this could get interesting. Jon Morosi‏ @jonmorosi Sources: #Twins will consider moving Ervin Santana - and even the recently acquired Jaime Garcia - if team's recent struggles continue. @MLB
  16. If that is Archer's minimum price he will no doubt stay a Ray for at least another season
  17. Before we go ripping the Twins for not rebuilding through trades like this, let's remember the Twins never had cost controlled above average starters like Sale and Quintana to pull this off.
  18. If we are being honest fans, Ervin Santana isn't the most valuable asset in the league right now, so yes they will get a lower return for him than say a guy like...Sonny Gray, but that doesn't meant he wouldn't bring back a good return. Will there be a team out there willing to give that return? Who knows.
  19. Because at times Santana can pitch like an ace and he only has one guaranteed year left on his contract after 2017. He would probably be cheaper to get than a guy 10 years younger than himself and will still be an upgrade for about every team out there.
  20. I am all for Granite getting a shot at the major leagues, but are you serious? Not only does Granite not have near the tools that Buxton has, he's a year older! Buxton currently leads the majors in defensive WAR, and you are going to chalk it up to dumb luck? Granite made a really nice catch yesterday, but this just blows my mind.
  21. As a Billings, MT native I am pretty stoked he signed so I can see him pitch a couple times for the Mustangs this season.
  22. Double steal muff is on Castro to me. Everyone in the building knows that Maybin has elite speed on 3rd base. Even if they didn't know the Angels had previously done this, this isn't a new play, it's one that everyone should have seen being in baseball for years. Either way, it's hard to win a game only scoring 1 run, especially when you are down 1-0 before you even get the plate.
  23. Has there been serious talk about Gordon not sticking at SS? I haven't read that many reports, but the ones I seem to remember stated that he has the tools to play the position.
