  1. Joe's 6th multi-hit game in his last 7.
  2. Since he has options it would work better to just send him down to AAA, so gotta think the arm is at least bothering him some.
  3. Looks like Slegers will be called up as the 26th man, and Berrios will be held out until the weekend. http://www.1500espn.com/twins-2/2017/08/twins-shuffling-pitching-deck-aaron-slegers-will-make-mlb-debut/
  4. Why waste using Pressly down 7 to one batter? Let Enns finish it. I'm not liking Molly's pen usage tonight.
  5. I see Enns is in the game. With the day off are we just skipping him in the rotation then with the off day yesterday? I turned the game off before Jackson's ball had landed, so forgive me if they answered the question already
  6. What I don't understand is if you are willing to pull Booze out of the game with nobody on base and 2 outs for Boshers to face the left......then why do you allow Boshers to face a righty after failing to do his job against the lefty? You either have to let Booze finish the inning, or pull Boshers immediately after he walked Bruce, it makes no sense otherwise.
  7. I have always mixed those two up. You would think with the Twins playing them so many times every year I would get it down, but nope. Not yet.
  8. Bert made a good point about Buxton. The old Buxton sits back and waves at that slider. The new Buxton kept his hands back, shortened his swing and put good contact on it. Yes, it was an out, but that's progression as a hitter. On another note, Salazar is filthy tonight.
  9. Colon doesn't have it tonight. It's turning into batting practice
  10. According to MLBTradeRumors here are your pending free agent relievers(as of right now). Just food for thought. Right-Handed Relievers Al Alburquerque (32) John Axford (35) Andrew Bailey (34) Tony Barnette (34) — $4MM club option with a $250K buyout Matt Belisle (38) Joaquin Benoit (40) Trevor Cahill (30) Jesse Chavez (34) Tyler Clippard (33) Steve Cishek (32) Wade Davis (32) Neftali Feliz (30) Jeanmar Gomez (30) Luke Gregerson (34) Jason Grilli (41) David Hernandez (33) Greg Holland (32) — $15MM player option Craig Kimbrel (30) — $13MM club option with a $1MM buyout Brandon Kintzler (33) Mark Lowe (35) Dustin McGowan (36) Jason Motte (36) Pat Neshek (37) Juan Nicasio (31) Seung-hwan Oh (35) Logan Ondrusek (33) — $1.5MM club option Chad Qualls (39) Addison Reed (29) Fernando Rodney (41) Francisco Rodriguez (36) Sergio Romo (35) Fernando Salas (33) Bryan Shaw (30) Joe Smith (34) Craig Stammen (34) Drew Storen (30) Huston Street (34) — $10MM club option with a $1MM buyout Anthony Swarzak (32) Koji Uehara (43) Carlos Villanueva (34) Jordan Walden (30) Tom Wilhelmsen (34) Chris Young (39) — $8MM mutual option with a $1.5MM buyout Left-Handed Relievers Fernando Abad (32) Antonio Bastardo (32) Jerry Blevins (34) — $7MM club option with a $1MM buyout Craig Breslow (37) Brian Duensing (35) Zach Duke (35) Boone Logan (33) — $7MM club option with a $1MM buyout Jake McGee (31) Eric O’Flaherty (33) Oliver Perez (36) Glen Perkins (35) — $6.5MM club option with a $700K buyout Clayton Richard (34) Tony Watson (32)
  11. Mauer and Kepler get the day off with lefty Boyd on the bump. Need some of that complete game Magic out of Santana today!
  12. Tough one. But...we all knew the bullpen didn't go from liability to strength over night, they were due a for a dud. The bats are hot and we have Santana going tomorrow. Go out and get the win and take the series.
  13. Alright, take us home Belisle
  14. Getting hits, making plays in the field, smiles all around. I'm loving this
  15. Man, hitting is just contagious.
  16. Always good to see Joe smiling
  17. Should have barehanded it, tough play either way
  18. I really think it depends on Joe. If he wants to keep playing it will be with the Twins. I just can't see him at age 35 after spending 17 years in the Twins organization leaving to sign a 1 year deal somewhere else.
  19. The bottom of the order has what...3 good games in a row now? Let's not act like they have been producing all season long, or even for an extended period of time.
  20. Unless I am reading the line wrong on frangraphs he was .262/.418/.344. Obviously the slugging isn't there, but an OBP over .400 for a month is valuable.....especially when there is no prototypical 1B knocking on the door to take over the job.
  21. Joe had a pretty good month in July, I would be more willing to call 8 games in August a mini-slump rather than being worn down. The BABIP of .120 won't stay that low.
