  1. Braves officially reading this forum.
  2. I'm saying they had several chances to add runs and failed, many times twice in one inning. Not being able to get a runner home from 2nd with less than two outs with this offense is something that's going to bite them in the rear end and it did.
  3. This combined with Salazar also back on the DL is a reminder to people who just penciled in he and Kluber into Cleveland's rotation for the rest of the year. Long injuries, especially to veterans need to be taken with a grain of salt.
  4. I'm surprised this whole recap is basically about Gibson not performing. The Twins had 15 hits, 4 for extra bases and only could push 4 runs across the plate. They left 2 runners on the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and the 9th. Yes, Gibson made the mistake on the pitch to Abreu, but the offense set themselves up time and time again and couldn't find the clutch hits.
  5. 28 pitches from Nova in the 1st inning, that's fantastic.
  6. He's only 20. Really this is only his 3rd year in the system after his very short 2015 and missing 2016, he's still learning how to pitch. The stat I like is how few HR he has given up. 7 in his minor league career 208 IP.
  7. 1: New York or Ribeye? New York. 2: Bacon or Ribs? This is a weird either/or. I very much enjoy both, but if I can just have one....Ribs 3: Veronica or Betty? Veronica. 4: Mashed or Baked? Loaded baked.
  8. But why? The contract amount is moot at this point. If they could roster him until September, what's the problem? Not having Cave around for 10 days? Hamilton on the September roster would make this a stronger a team. I don't get it.
  9. Does he have options left? If so they could swing that, if not he would have to clear waivers. How long does a team have when claiming a player to actually roster them? Is it immediate?
  10. The fascination isn't with his bat.
  11. If it's in September you can have both. Cave be your 4th OF spot starter when someone needs a day off or like now when players on the IL, and Hamilton can be your late inning defensive replacement and pinch runner. They provide different services. Realistically Hamilton would never see an AB.
  12. The Royals and Reds paid him to be a starter. The Royals are so far into a lost season, they have no use for a soon to be free agent who has trouble with the bat. They would rather audition guys for the future than play a free agent to be. With the Twins he would fit a small niche of being a late inning defensive player and pinch runner. He is still one of the fastest men in baseball despite his non-existent bat. In September competitive teams have use for that, so do playoff teams who have a limited pitching roster. It seems like a win-win situation to me.
  13. 1. Max Kepler CF 2. Miguel Sano DH 3. Jorge Polanco SS 4. Eddie Rosario LF 5. Marwin Gonzalez 3B 6. Luis Arraez 2B 7. Ehire Adrianza 1B 8. Jason Castro C 9. Jake Cave RF Starting Pitcher : Martin Perez Anyone see a common theme with today's lineup? 8 of those guys will hit left handed. The other is Miguel Sano.
  14. 42 players now have been used in the Brewers-Nationals game, which is insanity. Also... J. Guerra is pitching for both teams. Uncertain if they are the same player or not.
  15. 4.1 IP, 7H, 3BB, 7 ER for Berrios 4.2 IP, 3H, 0BB, 0 ER for the pen....without Dyson, Romo and Rogers. Just like we all would have guessed.
  16. Cave looks like an entirely different hitter up there lately.
  17. It's 12-12 in Washington between the Brewers and Nationals. 41!!!! players have been used in the game. Edit: It's also the 12th inning
  18. Can this be Trevor May every time out, please.
