  1. Oh please. Before his hiccup of a start today he had been excellent for the past 6 weeks and most of the regular season.
  2. IMO you are also guessing what you are going to be getting from Tulo, especially as he enters his early-mid 30's. He's a guy who has played in 65% of his teams games over the past 5 seasons. His defense has slowly been declining since the 2011 season. Short turn he might look great, long term with his contract and the pieces given up required to acquire him might look like a long term disaster.
  3. And if it were a 1 for 1 trade it would be an easy decision wouldn't it? You take Tulo and I will take May-Polanco-Rosario. Or Berrios-Polanco-Kepler or whatever the purposed trade is and let's make it 5 years.
  4. I said it means nothing when comparing him to Polanco. If Tulo was traded for Polanco I couldn't care less what his WAR was before the trade, but it's what they obtain after that counts.
  5. Everything Tulo has done in the past should be moot when it comes to comparing with Polanco.
  6. I should have specified that I meant that decline in terms of the in field and not at the plate.
  7. I like the idea of having him at SS but I don't like the idea of the trio of.....1) trading young starting pitching 2) getting a player who has played in 65% of his teams games over the past 5 seasons and 3) watching the decline at SS of a player getting into his mid 30's, which has seemingly started this year
  8. While it certainly would include at least of them, the idea of all of them is beyond ludicrous.
  9. Thank you. If the Twins do not move all their chips in and not aim for a WS title this year, that doesn't meant they have punted the season.
  10. At least we aren't the only fan base that overrates our players. Brewers fan from the MLBtraderumors comments: Sano, Buxton, Meyer and Berrios you say?
  11. What's the incentive to cut him? Cutting him know means you pay him this year's salary and the $12M owed to him in 2016 AND 2017 with getting absolutely nothing in return.
  12. If you are willing to give up Berrios or Gibson, I'd rather see a trade with the Brewers for Lucroy.
  13. Tulo would be a definite upgrade at SS, but he is a much different hitter away from Coors Field.
  14. Nice to see Weil get his 1st HR! I enjoyed watching his batting practice videos, the kid can hit the ball a loooong ways.
  15. I met Bob Feller at an Indians ST game in Goodyear, AZ about....5-6 years ago, got an autographed ball and got to listen to about 30-35 minutes of baseball stories. It was pretty awesome.
  16. I'm not surprised, but those are sad numbers. It doesn't help when the team carries 12+ pitchers, 3 catchers and the bench caters towards playing the field instead of the bat. Either way, yuck.
  17. You use Perkins an extra inning and you likely use Perkins up for the next 2 days as well. Is throwing him out there in a tie game in the 10th worth not having him available tomorrow?
  18. Is a tie game in the 10th high leverage?
  19. I saw a Twitter post that this team was 3 games ahead of the 2010 team, though that team had a superb 2nd half.
  20. Since the two run non-error double over Hicks's head glove by Moreland on June 12th, Duensing has tossed 11.2 IP, given up 2 hits, 1 walk and struck out 9. ERA went from 9.69 to 5.32.
  21. Considering he has never played even an inning at SS in the minors I would say there would be a zero percent chance this would ever be considered.
  22. One of the only ball players from my hometown, 2nd overall pick in the 1965 draft, SP Les Rohr.
  23. I'll add on. The majority of the time guys are going the other way isn't to hit a grounder to move the runner up, it's because they are in a 1-2, 2-2 count and protecting the plate. Sitting back on a breaking pitch, while still being able to hit a fastball the other way. No batter gets in the box solely to move the runner over, especially one from 1st to 2nd, unless it's a sac bunt type situation.
  24. You see it as sour grapes and being butt hurt and I see it as part of the game. Gomez could just have easily put his head down and trotted the bases. How many times have you seen Pujols or Stanton admire their shots? Celebrate when you get the plate or the dugout. Is it what it is. It's how I learned to play the game. And you confuse brushbacks and chin music with hitting people on purpose. A lot of guys get hit because they are crowding the plate. A lot of pitches would be a couple inches of the plate, but hit a guys elbow or shoulder because he is on top of the plate. It's the way it is and I really don't see a big out cry of any unwritten rules in the way the game is played.
  25. Eric Gunderson! I'll go more modern then, Curtis Granderson
