  1. 2 of those 3 have no trade clauses and you know it.
  2. Really tough to win ballgames you only score 2 combined runs in.
  3. Would be pretty disappointing after how well he has kept the ball in the park in AAA.
  4. Let's try this again. Sure could use a double play ball about now....
  5. Not gunna lie, I would like May back in the rotation but I really love seeing that 97 MPH heater followed by that change!
  6. Mauski gives Sano a shot at glory. Take that shot young man.
  7. BULLDOZIERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  8. There is no reason Perkins should be in there right now, especially to face Cruz. He is hitting .386 against lefties on the year. Meanwhile you just traded for a guy who is very rough on right handed hitters........sigh.
  9. Could really use a double play ball here....
  10. Didn't seem like he jumped either of them.
  11. Except Nolasco is owed 12 for 2 more years. Even if there was a Nolasco swap Shields would be paid 9-9-21-16 team option. Basically the 24 savings from Nolasco go to 39M to Shields, with the majority coming in his 35 year old season, so no it's not the same situation...and that's assuming you can swap Nolasco and that's not counting the prospects that would be given up to obtain him as well.
  12. He made some very nice plays last night as well
  13. I just get a little worried about the fact they would have 3 starters owed between 13-21M apiece for their seasons into their mid 30's. Hughes - 9.2, 13.2, 13.2, 13.2 Ages 30-33 Santana - 13.5, 13.5, 13.5, 14 option - Ages 33-36 Shields - 21-21-21-16 option - Ages 34-37 That's a lot of money owed to 3 pitchers with a lot of mileage on their arms in the normal decline phase.
  14. I think I said something long the lines with....."something happened during the AS break" which....it could have been! Then again it could have been that first start back too Either way his last 3 starts were bad. Edit: Found it, I kinda blamed the break. "That AS game layoff did something to Milone."
  15. You can't just put it on Molitor and claim he doesn't trust May. Have you seen much of May's games this year? He looks tired on the mound and struggles once he gets around that 90 pitch mark. Trusting a guy to go deep is a lot different than a manager knowing when to pull a guy who's tired is two different things.
  16. I would like to know as well, I think someone posted he throws a mid 90's fastball? He was a college reliever turned starter.
  17. It was just a guess. You can put it on Molitor, but a lot of games May has looked physically gassed out there when he is pulled. 90-100 pitches seems like his limit, at least this year, and that is generally getting him through 5-6 innings and on 4 occasions a little more.
  18. His career slash of .202/.260/.376 with a 34.5% K rate in the majors tells me his .294/.375/.437 slash line in AAA with a .423 BABIP is quite an aberration.
  19. I'm wondering if May's inability to go past the 6th inning in games had anything to do with it. In 15 starts he only pitched more than 6 innings, 4 times. That's quite the burden on the bullpen, even if you are throwing 6 innings of 1-2 run ball everytime out. That being said, I'm excited to see Duffey pitch.
  20. I've seen two different tweets, one said Duffey will start Tuesday, the other said Wednesday. Either way, I think May is staying in the pen...for now.
  21. Well let's hope this goes well! I knew something was going on with Milone. I posted in stats since the break yesterday and it's like he went off a cliff compared to his last 7 starts before the break.
  22. I am hoping this was one of the reasons they targeted Jensen because of the very fact that he has been that good against righties. It makes for an interesting pen when you team him up with O'Rourke.
  23. Now you are putting words in my mouth. Sano, Rosario and Buxton are rookies with very limited AB's. Hicks is finally showing why he was a big prospect in the 1st place. Arcia, Vargas and Santana who have shown they can play are all struggling in the minors. I am saying why not wait until at least someone or a group of guys show some consistency or that they are here to stay? Wait until at least a small portion of the great farm system actually produces? Why be tired of hearing about a great farm system before anyone actually develops? I am not saying everyone.
