  1. No, no, no. If we want an OF that can't field, let's just bring up Arcia, he has a lot more upside than Young does.
  2. Or he thinks that Escobar brings more to the table with the bat than Hermann does.
  3. And there we have it.
  4. I've always heard Kepler projects as a corner OF. How good is his defense for CF?
  5. Did you not play sports?! It's part of your identity!
  6. I am curious to know if they would let him wear 07 as well. You have to assume that Joe is probably going to be the last Twin to wear 7.
  7. I just feel the reality of trading of trading Hunter is slim to none.
  8. I don't think anyone said they were the same. There are 11 games til the break. May pitched yesterday. Which means if they went to a 6-man rotation until the break, everyone would get 2 starts. I really don't think it's going to throw anyone off. Go to the break, make a decision to send someone down, trade someone, send someone to the pen, etc. 6 starters, 7 man pen. Go with it.
  9. Yes, May is a starter and has the best numbers out of the starters when you consider Fip, xFIp, WAR. is downside is he throws too many pitches and lasts just less than 6 innings on average, but there's no way I take him out of the rotation.
  10. I don't see how you can give up on May after what he has done in basically his rookie year this year. To me he looks like he has a really bright future and should definitely be part of the Twins future plans. Trading him, especially for OF parts when we have Rosario, Hicks, Buxton, Kepler, etc seems counter productive.
  11. I can see them sending Thompson to AAA before I could see them straight releasing Duensing
  12. I think you are reaching. Gibson was a year removed from TJ, Berrios was an undersized 18 year old, Thorpe had just turned 17 and Hu was 18 and neither had even pitched in the system yet, the May trade hadn't happened, and they were still 8 months from drafting Stewert, Eades and Gonsalves. At the time they had very, very little when it came to upper level pitching prospects in the entire system.....not to mention just came off back to back very awful seasons.
  13. Terrible? He got into a jam early and got out of it and Herman essentially cost them a run by himself. A line of 6.1 IP, 6H, 2 ER, 1R, 3BB, 6 K is not terrible. He was a little wild, but I would take that start from him everytime out. If you want to see terrible, look at his last start. Now that was terrible.
  14. If the Robinson injury is serious at all, they need another OF up with the club. Thus I would put money on Hicks before Sano.
  15. With Santana not pitching til the 5th, doesn't really make sense to have him tie up a roster spot for 3 days.
  16. With Wheeler being released with the Berrios call up and Robinson being hurt today....my guesses: Robinson to the DL Hicks to the Twins Arcia to the Twins Sano to AAA Kepler to AAA
  17. Does Joe or Torii get the first crack at pinch hitting this game in the pitcher's spot?
  18. Looks like if you are over the age of 30 and not named Robinson you get the day off today.
  19. When the team has trouble scoring runs I don't blame them giving a little on defense to try and bolster the offense. In those 5 starts at SS, Nunez had double digits hits in 2 of them and drove in runs in 3, meanwhile taking 3 walks in 5 starts................or as many as DanSan has taken all season. Paulie is going with the hot bat, and honestly it's needed right now. Run him out there.
  20. Pretty much with everyone else on the thread. No one thought giving up Ramos to get Capps was a good decision at the time to begin with. I'd still do Span for Meyer. He's thrown 1.2 IP of major league ball and still has a lot of potential.
  21. When is Hicks eligible to come off the DL?
  22. I just mentioned it because of the perceived depth in LHP options in the high minor leagues right now for the Twins. I have more faith in Duensing than I do Thompson right now, a lot more. Very small sample size this season, but did pitch to an xFIP of 3.39, while carrying a high .351 BABIP with a K rate of 8.52 K/9. Coke still touches 94 on the gun and for his career he is much better against lefties. Upside is he would be cheap, downside he will be 33 next month and possibly would block someone. What left handed options do the Twins have who could fit a loogy situation in the high minors? I ask.....because I'm not sure.
  23. 4 HR in a game for the Twins?!? What is this?!
