  1. So Torii a late scratch........does that mean he dropped the appeal?
  2. Too. Long. Did. Not. Read. But...you might be right too.
  3. Even if they wouldn't have extended Zuke last season, I couldn't have seen the Twins offering Martin anywhere close the money he got from Toronto this past offseason.
  4. Oooo Rosario in the 2 spot and Hicks gets a day off after last night.
  5. You have used the term "redundant prospects" a few times today. Who are these redundant prospects that they can just flip for proven major leaguers?
  6. He came on with 2 on and 1 out, induced a ground ball, had an intentional walk and got a fly ball that should have ended the inning. Thompson and Pressley set that up last night.
  7. It was a hard hit ball, but that was very catchable. Sure the pitching put them in that position, but you have to make that catch.
  8. He catches it, the inning ends at 2-2 at they have a fighting chance at least. Hicks looked like Troy Williamson out there trying to catch a pass.
  9. I don't see how Arcia would be an asset to an NL team. Honestly, I don't know how much. A cost controlled player under the age of 30 at the shallowest talent position in the game. It just seems like it would take a haul
  10. I don't want to make Hicks into the scapegoat because you don't win ballgames with 2 runs on 5 hits, but he has to make that catch.
  11. I'd love for them to get Lucroy, but I can't imagine the cost. A good defensive catcher who turns 29 today, who finished 4th in MVP voting last year and has 2 relatively cheap years left on his deal. I think it would take quite the haul to bring him in.
  12. 7?! The Twins fielded a team a team coming off a division title in 2011, a year which they thought they would compete again. They didn't start rebuilding until realistically after 2012 with Revere and Span trades. They have been realistically been rebuilding for 2.5-3 years, not seven.
  13. Man, don't blink or you will miss everything. I've missed the entire 4th inning, this thing is flying by.
  14. Damn, looks like Trev just missed that one. A run is a run though!
  15. Bases Juiced, no outs?! What a great time to turn on the game! Let's go boys!
  16. They weren't necessarily luvcky as they were...timely. The team was 17th in batting average, yet third in batting average with RISP. The bullpen was near the bottom in all stats except LOB% which they were 5th..they were doing the things they REALLY needed to do right to have a great stretch of baseball. Not all rookies need a year to "acclimate" to the pros. It's strictly player by player, some obviously take more time than others to adjust to a higher level, there is no set benchmark.
  17. I agree with this. A fairly cheap starting option in case May and Meyer both proved not ready, Pelf was the Pelf if the last two years, Nolasco and his injuries, etc. The appearances clauses make more sense that way.
  18. What about Buxton's 270/336/473 line in AA tells you he is the best in house option? Even if he is the current best in house option, for a guy who is one of the most talented prospects on the planet, those are low numbers. Our buddy Aaron Hicks, which everyone loves to rip apart, was hitting 330/415/561 a level higher than Buxton is at right now. I understand he's a big prospect, but why has it become a forgone conclusion that jumping from AA to the pros is some easy some easy conversion? If this were September and the Twins were "in it" I would have a different view, but it's June, and not even towards the end of June yet.
  19. Hahaha now we see where your true intentions lie
  20. Very eloquently put, always. I loved it. He was pretty dang quick to eject Molly.
  21. I think the problem is you see the Twins as "in it" while TR and many people....like myself....see this as an evolving club and would rather let players mature and develop before forcing them up to the show before the mid-way point in June.
  22. If we were in late August and Sano was raking in AAA and the Twins really needed a bat for the stretch run I would say that would be forcing their hand. It's the 2nd week of June.
  23. He has pitched 4.1 innings in June. He gave up a 2 out double to Gomez whom Thompson let score and the HR to Perez tonight. There are far bigger problems in the pen than Boyer right now, and I'm not a Boyer fan at all.
  24. This is an assumption......I am assuming the don't think Pinto is good enough to catch 1-2 times per week and that's why Herman is up. If they brought up Pinto, I would think they would carry 3 catchers, which.....would it be that much of a better bench?
  25. It would be nice if Pinto hit in AAA to show he belonged up on the big club roster....
