  1. With no one on base, then really why not? I can't fathom the umpire would be thrilled with no one there to catch balls, but Suzuki playing a little rover out there, I could get on board.
  2. Cruz also has had trouble his entire career staying healthy. He has played more than 130 games 3 times in his career and turns 35 on July 1. If there was a time to take a chance on Cruz, it was before last season like the O's did. A 4 year, $57M dollar contract to a soon to be 35 year old is not one a team in the position of the Twins should be signin, at least IMO.
  3. What did he get tossed for?
  4. But how many of those guys are prototypical leadoff guys? I
  5. If he projects as a SS and Twins management thinks he is a more valuable asset at SS than in the OF, why would sending to AAA to play SS everyday to hone those skills be a worse option than playing on the MLB roster in CF?
  6. But why? You could probably say Santana was called prematurely last year. If he continues to struggle mightily at the plate and defense stays shakey for the next 3-4 weeks, what's it going to hurt if he is sent down to right the ship while Escobar took over as the starter? If it was just fielding that concerned people I would agree, but when he looks completely lost with the bat as well....
  7. Haha...I was leaning more towards, if he keeps hitting AND they believe Pinto can handle catching he becomes a trade asset from a team who loses a catcher. Also....hard to take one of your best performing bats out of the lineup.
  8. Well their current catcher does lead the team in OPS, is tied for the team lead in HR and is 2nd in slugging and OBP......
  9. Run differential shouldn't mean much after 12 games. 39% of the runs given up came in the 11-0 loss to DET and the 12-3 loss to KC. That skews things a lot.
  10. Good to see Torii flash that patented big smile! 6 solid innings from May, hopefully a sign of things to come! 4 K's and more importantly, 0 walks!
  11. Joesph Patrick Mauer! Just because it's your birthday doesn't mean you get to play lazy defense!
  12. Gotta give it up to Moss on that play. He played that off the wall perfectly and threw a strike to Kipnis.
  13. Mmmmmmm Back-to-back swing and a miss strikeouts
  14. May can't keep leaving those fastballs up in the zone like that. Even the pitch he got Santana out on was up.
  15. Hughes looks like he just woke up from a nap
  16. In other news....NFL reinstates Peterson, effect Friday.
  17. Would be nice if Escobar could open it up here and really make that error hurt
  18. Dang.....I really thought that was in gap. Great play by Cain
  19. Well Santana should have scored on Mauer's hit in the 1st....so it makes up for it.
  20. Seriously that was a god damn laser. Kennys mad, Kennys hit ball hard. Where the hell did that s come from in his name?
  21. Good piece of hitting there by Dozier, though I'm surprised when anything gets through the Kansas City infield.
  22. In this regard would it have really mattered? You could have still brought up this stat with him having 202 IP and a career season without his last start.
  23. So better than league average is medicore? Ricky had been a 3 WAR average player for 6 years before coming over the Twins.
  24. Will bringing him to the majors help his control against better hitters than he has been facing in AAA? Counting today he has walked twice what he has struck out and damn near thrown as many balls as strikes, I don't see how calling him to the majors fixes any of that.
