  1. I just watched the highlights. Some of the pitched were straight filthy. The third strike to Aviles in the 3rd amazing.
  2. Yet you are comparing a 1 year deal to 4 year contracts, not even in the same realm of comparisons.
  3. It's not so much how you view Buxton, but what do you see so valuable in d'arnaud?
  4. Well, he can provide depth next year without having an obligation to get him ML innings. If we don't have pelfrey and milone next year, that'll leave us with Hughes, Gibson, nolasco, Santana and May, with Berrios waiting in the wings. Duffy would probably be needed for at least a few starts, given the nature of the SP position. Where's Millone going?
  5. I guess at least he us the reigning Cy Young winner and not a scrub, but still.
  6. Well it's not good.....
  7. Against Kluber this week: Mauer 2-7 Rest of team 2-49
  8. Nothing not to like about this, and I agree with minimal moves, especially going with youth. Millone and Nolasco will still be around as well.
  9. I remember a lot of people ripping the Buxton selection of being a toolsy HS outfielder when the Twins lacked starting pitching in their system.
  10. Firing the scouting department doesn't answer the question what TR was going to do to put together something for 2013. There were a slew of bad options.
  11. Great. How does that help with 2013 and on?
  12. Well in September, Tonkin has no where to go with the AAA season being over and the rosters being expanded.
  13. It was result of a poor stretch of drafting over a 5-6 year period. If you are TR heading into 2013 with a severe lack of talent on the big league club and severe lack of talent in the high minor leagues, what do you do?
  14. I'm in the same boat. With them having the same amount of money owed to them, while Reyes's contract is up a year early, I don't see why it would be appealing. Especially when you factor in the PED suspension and the early results on Santana this season.
  15. If there is a time where he starts hitting 25 HR per year, sure maybe take a look at it, but with his decent OBP, he would fill the 1-2 spot in the order just fine. I also in the camp that Buxton in time will turn into a 3 hitter.
  16. I guess my question to you is.......do you see Kepler being a better player than Hicks and/or Rosario?
  17. It's not a straight release, but I am guessing he has thrown his last pitch for the Twins. Addition by subtraction! Welcome back Tonkin, let's see your make your case at being part of the pen next year.
  18. Adam Dunn walked 16% of the time during his major league career, or twice what ABW has done in his minor league career. That's huge.
  19. How many teams have zero gaps and continually are winning championships?
  20. Agree 100 percent. The guy has had a really nice and to judge him in his MLB debut against the best offensive lineup on the road is just brutal. He deserves another shot. I am actually surprised how more people aren't more exciteda bout the May move. I have read over 1000 posts about how stupid May not in the rotation is, and it happens and now we argue the other way? Welcome back Trevor May.
  21. I have no problem with Duffey getting a second start and see it as a huge plus that May is coming back the rotation. Berrios will get a shot, quit stressing.
  22. 2K hits in sight, a team that should be heading towards contention, nearly $50M dollars on the table in your last 2 years of his deal...yeah........I see zero chance he retires unless he becomes a completely useless player and liability.
  23. I wasn't ready to write him off, but I did think he was called up prematurely to begin with.
  24. More than 3 games?
  25. Jesus, you guys act like he ripped it up in the pros before he was injured. Do we not remember he hit .189 with 15 K's in 37 AB? Let him get his feet back under him, evaluate, and then bring him back.
