  1. Giménez had already been in the majors when acquired. I think he beat the 1.5 war season by a little bit as did Classe, another off season acquisition with MLB experience. Yes they were long term assets, but they were already in the majors
  2. I am sorry, the person I responded to was talking about MLB. I didn’t feel the need to have to write minute detail for people. My bad
  3. 651 players got a PA last year, only 129 qualified for the batting title. 20%. It was worse than you thought player across baseball spent over 44000 days on the dl.
  4. Yet another tired payroll complaint. I would hazard a guess that there are accounting things other than depreciation the clubs can use. Depreciation over a 15 year period of a billion or two sale does save a lot of tax money elsewhere. Calvin Griffith was probably the last owner to be living off income from baseball.
  5. The Twins window is this year and next 2027 is a labor contract year. I wouldn’t bet on smooth sailing for that one.
  6. Yup, bat speeds slow down with age. The findings presented say on average. What makes Buxton average? His bat speed already says he is not an average player so why should he e following a standard aging curve
  7. Thanks for pointing out that I should have stuck with AAA purgatory where Williams and Sevarino reside. After this year probably Holland and Morales will reside there
  8. It would be a 1 year rental for Cease at 13 million. So Paddack and Vasquez for Cease does not give the Padres any financial relief. Now add Arraez and give them one of the would be 2b along with the other two and a prospect and a couple of a to low a players it would make for a deal
  9. I should have stayed with AAA purgatory but i went with the term used by many posters here for clarity. I promise to be more ambiguous next time
  10. Sometimes it appears they have a surplus of AAAA players they do not get a shot or much of a shot in the majors
  11. As far as most pivotal moment in history for the Twins, bottom of the 9th game 6 comes to mind.
  12. Paddack as an innings eater. That is funny. His peak innings pitched was 143. That was in 2019. In terms of a baseball player’s career, that was a long time ago.. the only correct thing is Paddack as a throw in on a trade. I doubt if Castro is going anywhere unless they are wowed by the trade
  13. Zebby was -0.7 bwar. So he was the reason the team missed the playoffs. He was pitching because Ryan was injured. Ryan was the reason. But Margot had a -0.9 bwar. Blame him. Then there is Martin who had a -1.0 bwar, perhaps blame him. I forgot whose spot he took, blame that person.
  14. The amount of money any of these players have to contribute would e a drop in the bucket of an over $1.5 billion sale. The groups may like a former player involved to help be the face of the ownership group. Maye the fans will still be nice to them after a few years
  15. Then there is no logical reason why any team would take Vasquez unless the prospect was that good. In.the eyes of the receiving team. Trading a prospect that you think can e a major league player makes no sense for building a club. That leaves the prospects someone else likes and you don’t. That makes it difficult to trade. The Polanco trade did not happen until the end of January so a trade is still a possibility.
  16. Did the blowing over your head mess your hair?
  17. 5 items burned to a crisp 1. Can Stewart make it to 20 IP 2. Can Topa make it to 20 IP 3. How can you call the Pohlads cheap when they are giving away money to these 2 4. Is a good, cheap left handed reliever really just a figment of somebody’s vivid imagination? 5. In this day and age of baseball if a pitcher isn’t good enough to be a starter, how does that player become a multi inning reliever with the same pitches?
  18. Ryan Yarborough and Jose Urena were the about the only 2 pitchers used as multi innings pitchers. While other pitchers have thrown multiple innings upon occasion, there isn’t anyone else making a living that way. Nobody has signed either of these two pitchers. Max effort relievers only pitch so many innings. These 2 are PTC. These pages were filled with comments on pitch to contact pitchers. There has been already enough stated to understand why they are still unsigned
  19. For all the love for the FO shown here I would have thought the FO would have flown in Vasquez, Paddack and Dobnak for the event
  20. Building up innings at a major level wastes cost controlled years. Unfortunate for the player.
  21. If the user of subscribers is 40K like San Diego i doubt advertising revenue will be as good as what was on Bally. Their rumor of viewers was near 140K.
  22. Welcome to Twins Daily. You must have missed that pretty much any player has had their name as trade discussions. Will it happen? Probably bot. So why all the articles? People need to know what will never happen
  23. Yup Margo was at a higher WAR value than Dobnak. A trade that is a money dump is dependent on 2 factors 1.Talent, 2 Money changing hands. So if the teams are not trying to give up money, a 10 million dollar salary should cost more in prospect value than a 4 million dollar salary. You bring talent level into the equation .12.32 career war, Margot could e viewed as having some value therefore perhaps it would not take as good of prospect as a totally dead weight player for 10 million. A prospect value would be about even.
