  1. In the last seven days there have been 2 articles on who is available for rule 5 draft, one on who has been DFAd, one on non tendered relievers, one on non tendered starters, and 2 on non tendered bats. So far that means the Twins Daily writers must see the solution to what Nick brings up is more of the same. Somewhere Kafka is laughing
  2. Forbes says Twins et 50 per fan. 48%of that goes into revenue sharing. The Twins drew about 2.2 million while winning 101. Games. 3 million came out only after winning a WS and the opening of a new ballpark
  3. The value of the club is not appreciably changed by the won loss record. In recent years the difference in fan revenue winning or losing is not that large of difference in the total revenue
  4. Young versus inexperienced is a semantics argument The young of nursing was anyone new to the level of skill they were working. Larnach was not traded because he is not what either a contending team would add, nor a rebuilding team would add. He would be what was traded with another player if what was coming back was a bat first player. He was kept likely because of the uncertainty of the rest of the outfielders. Outman is still on the roster because there were other players more needing to be cut when there was a need to cut.
  5. Considering they asked for Duran or the other starting outfielder and wanted quality prospects, I don’t think Ryan is going anywhere.
  6. Yup, the Twins need a first baseman and a bullpen. Yup the Twins have a lot of unproven staters. If there was any doubt about it, the 100th article and the millionth comment about these three things should be erased with this article and comments section. Analytically is there any way to get Julian back hitting like he did as a rookie? Are Beaurgie and Shelty the guys to do it? Is. Out of Lopez, Ryan, Ober, SWR, are starters Bradley, Abel, Mathews, and Festa for the last spot along with Kline and Morris for the 5th spot.As they really have nothing really to gain by being in AAA, do the losers become every fourth day bulk relievers? At least idle speculation of what they could be doing is something other than rehashing the same old thing.
  7. That was Rumsfeld in response to being questioned on why the military sent the soldiers off to war to be maimed and killed in Humvees with little armor to protect the soldiers. The callousness of the response was astounding.
  8. Kisting, a late round draft pick provided an arm from Tampa Bay to be the future closer for the Twins
  9. A site that promotes negativity wonders why people are negative. I don’t know if I should give credit to Cody for starting a semantics argument over the term young.
  10. So not the first straw man article here, definately not the last I have realized why they need so much straw on this site.
  11. Emory Long was a catcher, I figured he had a built in excuse.
  12. A player has 2 serviceable years out of 10 in the league and this is what the writer wants to bring in? Shouldn’t a writer have a little bit better idea or is it all now just clickbait?
  13. Heim is probably a sub par bat but a durable starting catcher. He is likely to find a 6 million contract given the state of catching. Texas must have thought they are falling out of their contention window and trying to save some profit The revenue sharing from the loss of RSNs by other teams must be a significant number
  14. Pretty much it is a 100-110 pitch count for the teams. .
  15. In Twins history you are correct, in baseball history it was Al Pardo. If the name sounds familiar then you are remembering Don Pardo
  16. The widow is suing the brother in laws. It could take a long time
  17. Yup, the Twins need more OF prospects because these are so much better than the 7 they have. Can’t argue with looking at a 1B. It would have been nice if Cody could have raved about Jordan’s defense. I suppose having 2 gold glove 1B shows the Twins know how to coach up defense
  18. Yup, but that means your roster is not set like some people here seem to be thinking . First rule of holes for you is to not be one
  19. Don't know if he is better. At somewhere around 30 he is stopgap. We would a love a catcher that is cost controlled, can hit and be an excellent catcher. They are harder to find than a true ace pitcher. That is the conundrum. A catcher that can do the defensive stuff and be close to a league average hitter is probably a good get. Whether this is the guy or not remains to be seen.
  20. The age of the pitcher the batter faces in the minor leagues is irrelevant, especially at the AAA level. The level of baseball played is based on talent. That would be even more true for AAA as over a third. Of the pitchers used at the mlb level had a FIP over 5. This FO has shown little concern for injury history. They have for the last few year had a backup plan for Buxton. Some years not as successful as others
  21. The small sample size of AAA experience of Jenkins and Walker is part of the reason to retain Larnach. The injury history of Rodriguez is another part of the reason. Poden and Martin (Thank you autocorrect for Rowan and Martin). Have not had sustained success at MLB levels. That is why they have to retain Larnach. The infielder options have a worse prognoses for success than Larnach. We shall see if the numbers put forth by MLTR that people use as for real contracts are accurate. The signings have been for less than what MLTR says, the non tender list is quite long.
