    IMO it's still way to much SSS this year. His ISO will normalize. Last year I still maintain his numbers were highly luck driven by a .364 BaBip. We will see if he can keep it up. .750 ops? Maybe .800 ops? I don't see it.

    Yeah he's playing like an MVP for sure. I also love the fact that he is hitting (for power as well) up the middle. He isn't just some dead pull hitter, which is going to help continue to reduce his strikeouts etc We could be looking at something real real real special. Also he looks fine at 3B.

    He's a solid bench bet for a contending team. If the Twins stick in it, maybe he should platoon with Rosario. If they fall out of it they can trade him. I still think you need someone with legit power at DH, especially when you are getting zero power out of 1B, and not a whole lot out of the OF combined.

    This team has zero margin for error, failing to score three or more runs against a terrible SP and a terrible BP is inexcusable. Molitor and the FO gave this game away by running out a lineup like this.....AFTER an off day.

    Actually I take it back, not impressed at all: grossman DH Santana OF giminez 1B 2nd week of season AFTER an off day? I don't care if Sandy Freaking Koufax is on the mound, that lineup is a joke. Same old Molitor, playing the scrubs like Danny santana waaaaayyyyyy too much.

    That's only if that group of pitchers pitch 9 innings a game, in reality the bullpen pitchers 3-4 innings per game So for a 2.00 ERA the net result is somewhere between 0.66-1.00 runs per game.

    I feel like we go through this every season, it's perfectly ok for the audience/a few episodes to be better "mike" episodes then Jimmy anyways. That is what made Breaking bad so freaking fantastic, Walt was the "main" character, but Jesse, Skyler, Gus, Mike, Hank all had various arcs where they freaking OWNED it. Eventually Gus+Mike+Jimmy will all start working together anyways, it's masterful story telling, just enjoy the ride for now

    At the end of the day, I just want to watch meaningful baseball in Sept. as long as they can stay within striking distance of the playoffs come Sept first (i.e. 5 or less games out of the wild card spot) it at least gives us a reason to watch. Nothing is worse than being out 15 games in mid August.

    Since June 2016 Ervin Santana has a 2.36 ERA, 2nd best in the AL behind Justin Verlander

    Santana always seemed like a guy who had better "stuff" then his results. Showing his 2005-2014 stats isn't really relevant IMO, I think 2011-2014 is more relevant because it's the four most recent years prior to the signing, in those four years: 3.24 ERA 3.38 ERA 3.95 ERA 5.16 ERA The 5.16 ERA was clearly the outlier IMO. So basically I think Santana has been the pitcher who we kind of assumed he would be, very good #3, solid #2 type. Liked the signing at the time, love it now.

    And guys like Dozier, Mauer, Buxton, Kepler all should progress. It goes both ways. The key is to keep winning games.

    Yeah, he looks fine IMO.

    IMO Mauer has always been under-rated for his defense at 1B, I don't think it's a stretch to say he is in the top 1/3rd in the majors.

    I think having Mauer bat in front of Sano is the smart thing to do, Mauer is a bit of a shell of his former self, but he still isn't going up to the plate swinging wildly and striking out a ton. I think it's very clear that the Twins want Sano to cut down on his strike outs this season, having him hit behind Mauer, see all of his at bats close up IMO is a good way to do that. I think Mauer ends up with a decent .750-.770 OPS anyways. If anything I'd rather have Mauer bat 2nd and Sano bat 3rd. Bring up Park and have him DH/bat 4th.

    This is the key with Buxton, and why I am glad they moved him down sooner rather than later. Hopefully the kid can figure it out soon, maybe this off day will help, if I were the Twins I would have him taking extra extra extra BP every day.

    Yeah Kepler needs to be playing 162 (or damn close to it) Rosario could be platooned, but then again Grossman is terrible defensively. You know who would be a PERFECT platoon partner/4th OF for this team? Aaron. Hicks.
