  1. Two spaces between words also is probably frowned upon by style manuals, and is similarly punished at the moment, though you may not be seeing it here.
  2. Agreed. But unless Big Pelf shows something better than he showed today, it won't be him.
  3. He'll need to pitch better than he did today, sometime soon, or nobody is going to take him at all.
  4. Missed the game, I see Hughes gave up 3 hits plus a BB in 1 inning yet surrendered no runs. Fielding heroics, or did Hughes come out for a second inning and have to be lifted with no one retired?
  5. Seth probably will speak up soon, but last year's was right around Opening Day, i.e. once it was known which prospects had actually made the major league roster. So sit tight for a while. Here was last year's announcement: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/10035-2014-adopt-a-prospect-starts-tuesday-at-9-ct/?p=207774
  6. I think there's a tacit assumption that the article is discussing Opening Day, and therefore who is on the 40-man roster right now. Adding Burdi now would mean dropping somebody - which wouldn't be the end of the world, but it's not going to happen like that so why factor it in. The wild card for me is that currently the 40-man has 22 pitchers and 18 position players. That suggests to me there is room for a trade of some type in late March. It could be a minor swap to get rid of perceived dead wood (*cough*Nolasco*cough*), or it could be big. A big trade could change every discussion here, so you can only go with what you know now, but it's still there in the background.
  7. Season? Pff. Just contract them already.
  8. This, and I'll go you one better. Mr Clanky batting against Iron Mike. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/0Hr1c2rcn9o/hqdefault.jpg http://www.frozenropes.com/Uploads/Gallery/NY%20-%20Albany/iron_mike.jpg
  9. Ah, found it. Yahoo and ESPN's game pages only show the most rudimentary linescores, but mlb.tv (through which I am listening) has a good PBP. I didn't scour it for details, but it looks like Milone did well, with what seems like routine outs (grounders and popups) and a single that was not really lofted but went to center field. I see Milone as the favorite to make the starting rotation if he pitches OK in the spring. Early but he's got to be pleased. Darnell wasn't as successful in the third and fourth, but the scoring damage was tolerable.
  10. ftfy I've tuned in late - top of the fifth. I see the starting lineups, above. Can someone give a quick recap, including who has pitched and for how long? Did Tommy Milone cruise during his stint?
  11. Small Sample Size. You need at least 2 games to make such a projection.
  12. No, the brownies were baked, not me.
  13. Hokay, gotta run. Guests coming for dinner. Before Glunn or anyone else asks: roasted pork tenderloin, smashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, salad; brownies and ice cream for dessert. I already slightly over-baked the brownies, let's see how the rest of it goes.
  14. Looking forward to TD poster Halsey Hall's charitable comments on Plouffe's throw just now.
  15. ESCO-BEAR! The opposition can not expect to stop Eduardo, they can only hope to contain him.
  16. Suzuki gets credit for a spring training hit. I think his speed intimidated them into a rushed throw.
  17. http://www.kp.ru/f/12/image/80/72/2177280.jpg I attempted to find an animated GIF of him doing a slow-clap of admiration but it froze my computer.
  18. Yeah, I had to look at it a couple of times but I think it was well beyond the wall, as far as having any chance at a catch. But you don't like seeing him hit the wall the way he did - not a skillful look.
  19. Are we witnessing the end of the Tim Stauffer Era?
  20. Where's he play? Center field I hope. Never heard of him.
  21. Now, about the slow response I've been seeing today from the site, whereas it's been normal everywhere else I've visited.
  22. In-game commentary is always welcome. But I suspect I'm a little typical, in that I drift in, catch up on what's going on, and then something inevitably calls me away. They need to double my pay if I'm going to get serious about doing PbP.
  23. In ST you get your work in, during a couple of innings, then head to the buffet.
