  1. "Kansas City is clearly trying to cover up the TV that’s playing video." Parker Hageman pointed out on twitter (cant figure out how to embed the tweet) that it was the bullpen phone ringing, which is right next to the video monitor, and they were reacting to that. There were other shots in the bullpen that clearly showed the monitor, and there was no effort to cover it up, plus they wouldnt have any idea which camera is live and theres a delay too.
  2. If anyone can get ahold of Dustin, I would volunteer to take over the duties for him...
  3. I agree with John, the fact that they try to improve it every year is nice, makes me hopeful that they wont pull a Rangers and get a new stadium when the "old" one has only been used for 20 years. As a father of 2, I like that they added TC's clubhouse in the outfield, so my kids can play a bit before the game or during if they get squirmy. And the turfed area just inside Gate 34 is nice too. In the same vein, I agree with Rena, the water filling stations are HUGE! I think one of the under appreciated aspects is the staff. The ushers/guest service are great. They seem to genuinely love their jobs. This article made me miss Target Field so much. Cant wait for the Touch 'em all Pub Crawl, whenever we are able to do that again.
  4. I know Gleeman had mentioned something about Toby Gardenhire likely being there as he is the AAA manager. Any word on him?
  5. Same, I was there in 2018, and it bugged me they had both (they may have had some of the Senators/Rangers franchise too, but who cares about them). You dont get to claim any team that ever played in your city. It doesnt work that way, especially if those teams are still playing.
  6. I went down to Target Field with the family this weekend (got some Glam Doll donuts and played on the grass by the LRT station for my birthday, we really miss baseball...) and I noticed a few things that hadn't been publicized before (as far as I know). 1. Large banners have been placed outside for the Senators pennants (2 AL and 1 WS) 2. "The Catch" seems to have a new Corporate-overload name PS sorry for the rotation of the photos, cant figure out how to have them correct when they attach
  7. Can we get a metric on table flips? or at least an opinion on if they should act like they've been there before?
  8. Unfortunate that he's from WI. Wisconsin is only good for 1 thing: cheese. If I ate pork, I may add sausage. Beer used to be on that list before the MSP craft beer boom.
  9. I didnt realize Radke was from WI. Thats unfortunate...
  10. I dont know enough about minor league stadiums and facilities, but what level is CHS FIeld at? A, AA, AAA?
  11. This is so ridiculous and brilliant. It's exactly what I needed right now. Thanks Nick. Also, thank you for addressing why Billy is still the manager when he had decided to step down in the movie (pushes glasses back up the bridge of my nose). Most importantly, THANK YOU for putting in Wally's inane statistics. My wife and I mock those all the time watching real games. PS: my claim to fame, the 3rd base coach for the Twins was my high school baseball coach. and I was in the crowd for the standing ovation after game 163. They filmed before a random game, and they just announced over the PA that we need to cheer and chant BILLY, BILLY!. we had no idea what was going on, although I was 9 at the time.
  12. Ever since I've had kids (now 5 and 2), we've had a "morning workout" before the opener. Usually involves some tee work and just running around outside on a chilly late-March/early-April morning. Then we get ready to take the LRT downtown. get there when gates open, walk around, take it all in. First concession ALWAYS has to be a hot dog. The 5 year old can down the 1/4lb dog no problem (never been prouder than when he finished his first one). This year, the 5 year old didnt want the tee. I pitched some wiffle balls to him. Hit a few Bombas. Then he helped his 2 year old sister with her hands and feet while using the tee (proud dad moment). For dinner, we had hot dogs and soft pretzels. During dinner, both kids asked why we werent going to the Twins game since we were all wearing Twins shirts/jerseys. Explained as best as we could. They seemed to get it, but were understandably disappointed. In the grand scheme of things, going to a baseball game doesnt matter, but once the pandemic is over, and we get to go to Target Field again, I have a feeling some tears will be shed.
  13. I think #1 is right, but I much prefer the White Sox broadcast for it. I can't find the video, but basically its Hawk being silent as Thome rounds the bases.
  14. I would add Justin on the White Sox. PS Harmon on the Royals looks all sorts of wrong, but it allows for one of my favorite trivia questions: What team did Killebrew hit his last HR against? The Twins.
  15. Just got his book yesterday, read a bit last night. already loving it. Great story about breaking a church stained-glass window when he was a kid. nest part about it, in my head I hear his voice as I read it. which is nice, since I wont hear it during twins games for a while this year. go get the book if you havent already.
  16. Second for the Baseball and Philosophy. great book. The whole Philosophy and Popular Culture series is really good too. The Arm by Jeff Passan. about TJ surgery and pitching The Shift by Russel Carleton Smart Baseball by Keith Law -both good intros to newer stats
  17. STICK TO (SATIRICAL) SPORTS! May I also suggest Vikings on the History Channel (only the first 3 seasons though)
  18. I did catch tshirt from the cannon in the metrodome. proabably 2005-2006. It was a red shirt w a TC in the left chest, and a Perkins (restaurant, not Glen) logo on the arm. It was a size M, and I am a XL-XXL depending on the brand. So I gave it to someone near by.
  19. As someone who has thought about if I want to wear my Hrbek shirsey to both Twinsfest and the Meltdown this, or if I want to wear something a different to Twinsfest and then change...this hits WAY TOO F-ing CLOSE TO HOME!
  20. ok, I guess... A look at the Pohlad's earlier this week:
  21. Thanks for the list Nick. Hard to argue with any of these, but I would have added Perkins's final game as well. It was great to see him out there again after the labrum issue, and seeing his emotion in the dugout and afterwards, you knew his career was over. https://www.mlb.com/news/glen-perkins-may-have-pitched-final-twins-game-c257001106
  22. Ive gone in the past, I should have worded it differently. As it is at a new venue, will there be food available to order like there was at Brothers? Since its an event center, rather than bar/restaurant.
  23. As a "fat kid", I need to know; will there be food available during the event?
