  1. I think the Twins have a chance of resigning Gray. Depends on how much he wants. He is durable enough meaning he avoids the serious injuries. If the will go 3 at 70 million the Twins should be in the conversation. At least with Free agency the way it is too heavy with starting pitching helps the Twins in that they can find a starter if they want. There will be options. And the rotation would be my biggest concern going into the offseason with the need for a number 2-3 starter and depth too. Next year we have Lopez, Paddack, Ober, Varland, and……. A good number 2-3 would keep the rotation a strength. Im curious to see the Pagan saga play out. Do we or don’t we resign him. I can see the Twins resigning Solano. Depends on if they want to keep Farmer and Gordon and Castro next season. I think one of the bunch is gone. The biggest reason not to bring him back is so his playing time goes to Lee so Lee can compete for rookie of the year. Doesn’t the team get an incentive pick if the rookie of the year starts the season on the team and plays the whole season? If Gray signs elsewhere for 50 million + we essentially traded a # 20-25 pick. (I forget where Petty was Drafted) for 2 years of Gray and a 31-35 pick. That’s a good deal.
  2. Mlbtraderumors shows his projected arbitration salary at 6.6 million which is reasonable for a super utility player. We need a solid backup SS. And with what we gave up to get him we may as well get more value from that trade… jk. But anyways he is exactly what we thought we were getting with Marwin a few seasons back when we gave him a 2 year contract. I’m not saying he is a given to return but I think if nothing else we will get him back because we could probably trade since the free agent market for SS especially is weak.
  3. If he was here we would also have the extra value of playing another guy from Minnesota.
  4. Rooker probably has 3-5 seasons off .750 and above OPS with 20+ HRs and he should get some chances with the A’s while he is still cheap the next 2-3 years. He may not be great or have a long career, but he could end up with 100-150 career HRs before it’s all over for him and that would be solid.
  5. I agree the Twins need to hit early against the starting pitcher. The Twins got on base 5 times in their first 4 outs. The Twins hit into 2 double plays. No score lose by 2. no bueno. and the rookies can get a hit too. I give them permission to relax and mash.
  6. One pair of trades I liked was the trade of international spending money for Pearson from the Angels and Banuelos from Seattle. We literally gave up nothing to get a 2nd round draft pick and a fifth-round draft pick. Banuelos has been pretty solid organizational depth since that trade and is still with the organization at this time. Of course the trades i really like the most are the ones that help us advance the most in the post season. Gray and Lopez for Petty and Arraez also Escobar for Duran Leguima for Farmer I like how JA Happ was traded for a prospect that was traded for Taylor Mitch Garver for the parts to include in Donaldson trade for salary relief which allowed us to get our SS and I like odorizzi trade. There are lots of trades to like here. Trade I hated Coulumbe for cash Nick anderson trade Sam Dyson trade. Didnt like how lopsided the Mahle trade turned out but I don't hate go for it trades like this either. Thats pretty much it. there are way more good trade then bad ones.
  7. The Twins hitters can decide to start hitting any time now.
  8. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/10/mlbtr-poll-division-series-winners.html The Twins have the highest vote total or smallest margin for the Team predicted to not advance. Did you vote?
  9. As long as we give up less runs and score more runs in three of the same games we should come out on top. The keys to doing this are pitching defense and hitting. We got this.
  10. You mean other SS would call for the pick off play?…. Who?
  11. Solano had a .369 on base and .391 Slg with 26 2Bs 1 3B and 5 HRs last year Arraez had a .375 on base and .420 Slg with a similar 31 2Bs 1 3B and 8 HRs in over 130 more ABs. The main difference in Slg percentage is the batting average difference. Arraez got more hits and Solano got more walks.
  12. Castro just defended his Twinsdaily award he got today. Well maybe not with the GIDP but we did score another run. so there's that.
  13. Berrios still has a chance to help pitch us to the next playoff round. I believe he can do it. Just give him a chance. he can get it done over the next few innings.
  14. Solano wins this. He replaced Arreaz production from the year before. Compare their on base and slugging number and extra base hits. Other than average he was an Arreaz clone for 2 million and signed in spring training.
  15. Punto was a flawless base runner and great defensively at 2B and 3rd and above average at SS. He just didn’t want to hit.
  16. I like the Julio Rodriguez contract as a format an extension for Lewis should be like. There are protections in it for both team and player and enough money and time to potentially lock him up for his career.
  17. The Twins need to sign LEwis to a contract similar to what Julio Rodriguez signed in Seattle. Potentially a 14 year and 300-400 million deal with escalators and options and opt outs to protect both parties interests.
  18. Playoff fun with numbers. Royce Has a 5.000 OPS in the playoffs
  19. Both teams also did it with an Eddy Rosario contributing to the totals. Varland was available to pitch yesterday. He should have gotten the call before we tanked the game yesterday. That was embarrassing.
  20. both teams also did it with Eddie Rosario contributing to the HR totals too.
