    I think what gets this team to the playoffs is what they should stick with in the playoffs. To win 3 of 5 games this team will need to score 6+ runs in those wins. We will need the offense, so 11 pitchers and 14 position players. Besides the starting nine of Garver, Cron, Arraez, Polanco, Sano, Rosario, Buxton, Kepler and Cruz, we need Castro, Schoop, Gonzalez, Cave and Adrianza available. Sorry, Astudillo is out.

    Twins bring the A game today! Us fans need to see it but more importantly the players need to play it.

    Bremer and Smalley sound like they are announcing an evening at the Roxy. "That was a very very nice pitch." "He played that grounder off the wrong hop." "Good comeback by Gibson." "With a side salad that would be a wonderful 3-course meal." Okay, I made up that last one.

    It does seem that way to me too and it seems to be psychological more so than physical (injuries) or even skill. I noticed when Cleveland last came to town they had swagger and confidence almost to the point of a bully and what I mean is they just kinda let you know they are good and you are gonna have to knock them off their perch if you wanna beat them. The Twins just don't seem to show that same type of assertiveness and aggression. Lesser teams, the ChiSox and Tigers lately, seem to catch on to that quickly and often take charge of game situations. Makes it harder for the Twins to re-assert themselves. At least that is what I perceive.

    The Twins are treating first place like a plate of vegetables.

    Up and Down, Up and Down; the Pitching and Defense. Offense wins the games. No Offense -- no Win. It's not a bad formula. Just need the offense to shine more often than not and so far that's been the case. First Place, 77-50 record, 27 games over .500, 2.5 game lead. I will take that. It's ugly sometimes but I will still take that!

    I like it. Egos aside, fielding the best team for that day is what is needed. I wonder what stats Rocco looks at in making his lineup? P.S. He needs your advice.

    Yowzer and uffda. Now 16-15 since the break. Well everyone is contributing in on this .516 pace. :/ Man, it sure would be nice to get 12-13 wins over over the next 20 games, before we see you-know-who again. Go team!

    I have stated to a good and knowledgeable baseball friend of mine, the idea MLB set the beginning games of the season in most of the warm weather parks and dome teams (only a few left, I know). Compensation of the schedule could be made for games mid- and late-season to even things out. I think the players would like it, fans too...and fewer cold\rainy games at the start would be better for the club's pocket books. Just a thought. Edit: The "beginning games of the season" I meant the first 2-3 weeks, maybe 4 weeks.

    I have no doubt, given this current record and tie for first place, that we would all feel different if we were seeing the April/May results right now and not the June/July/August ones.

    And knowing who was up next too. Even with Mr. Clutch's weak ground ball outs it would have only been the second out.

    Not really surprising results the past 4 games. Cleveland is just better in every category, top to bottom , ownership to ball girl. Prediction: when this team goes to Cleveland in mid September, they'll be 5.5 games out of first. It will be the last hurrah of this season and no mater the result it won't make any difference in Cleveland's 4th straight division championship. So look forward to 2020.

    Plenty of games left to decide the fate of both teams. This series will be fun to watch to see who will rise. But, its not make or break for either. There is more to come, right?? For the Twins, I see 2 or 3 every day starters and 3 or 4 pitchers that will drive this team forward to a division championship and into the playoffs. For the every day guys -- Rosairo, Kepler, Cruz, Polanco or Sano. They all seem fit and capable to take on that role. Pitchers? Well we know Berrios is ready; will he be joined by Odorizzi and Gibson, May, Smelzer and\or Rogers? We'll need some of them, 3 or 4, maybe 5, to play at their top level to have a solid chance to go to the WS.

    Dennis? Dennis!?! Is that you??? Oh, you sound so much like him. Maybe we just need to get back to some cooler weather for some of these guys.

    I think Rocco should become Manager\Player and then, when needed, he can toss a few innings for the team. Maybe even pinch-hit once in awhile. That would be great fun. Besides, novelties are a good sell at MLB ballparks.

    Today was a real feel-good story, watching that young man Smelzer win his first MLB game. Good Good. I hope we get to see a few more like this.
