  1. I hope this doesn’t mean a trade for a relief pitcher. They spent 13 million abouts on Bundy, Archer, Smith (after incentives and buyouts). Would have been so much easier to just give Chafin 6 or Moore 7.5 But we all know Falvey hates quality free agent pitching
  2. More depth which is amazing. Just still don’t get why bullpen depth isn’t important
  3. Why can't they just make one move to fortify the bullpen? Last year, Twins gave Bundy 5 million and I think Archer got close to 7 after incentives and buyout. Neither did anything for the team last year, but two legit setup men got 5.5 and 7.5 (Chafin and Moore) and the Twins scoffed at that. Brad Hand appears to be close to done in this league and would likely be a waste of money. Someone needs to have a quality over quantity conversation with the Twins brass when it comes to pitching FA deals,
  4. The diamondbacks were very close to selecting Jay number one overall so yeah he was very much hyped up. Both had very similar size and a fastball/slider/change up repertoire all thrown at similar speeds. Jay was trying to move from a reliever to a starter Prielipp hasn’t pitched in 3 years. Similar hurdles I get why people are excited but I’ve seen him ranked as high as 4 on twins prospect lists. That’s ridiculous. If he showcased the same stuff but was a 5’9 righty nobody would know his name.
  5. Excited to see what he does this year, but all this hype without seeing anything reminds me a whole lot of Tyler Jay
  6. They’re so close, I don’t understand why they don’t throw a few more million out at a good quality reliever. I recognize that Falvey has faith in the current bullpen, but he’s formed a great backup plan for the rotation and the position players. Relief is the cheapest backup plan there is and he just doesn’t want to budge. there’s a lot of potential in this pen, but too much risk to sit around and do nothing.
  7. Thank you for mentioning Ryan’s stats against everyone else. I just don’t see any overwhelmingly dangerous pitches and he can’t seem to keep his fastball velocity up. We’ll see 94/95 for an inning or 2 and then it’ll be 89-91 the rest of the game. I frankly don’t see him taking the next step
  8. I think you have to give the FO credit in playing some role in their development even if they weren’t the ones to draft them, but I see what you’re saying for sure
  9. This article acts like Correa is only allowed to be given one physical a year and acts like the Mets won’t be allowed to perform one and the Twins wouldn’t have been able to either. Twins didn’t want to spend the money, simple at that. oh, it’s a nick Nelson article. Should have expected that. Always leaving out key details that don’t fit his narrative
  10. They are nowadays. You see what Bellinger got? prove it deals nowadays are large 1 year deals to set the player up for a potential massive deal the next. Rodon got one last year
  11. Yes and I do not believe Kepler will have a ton more production, but I do think those ground balls into the shift will start bleeding through, If he can get his OPS back up to .750 he will be a 5 WAR player. That could bring back a huge trade haul. Sadly, I don't believe the Falvine duo thought about this
  12. I have no issue giving someone like this a prove it deal. Here's my main problem here. Kepler is coming off a bad year, with the potential to have a really good year if the analytics are correct about the loss of the shift. Kepler also has a team option next year. Gallo has the chance to bounce back, but he's on a 1 year contract, so if he does he's going to get a massive contract next year from someone not named the Twins. Twins had the chance to have a potential huge trade package next year for Kepler or keep him for a season on the cheap and get massive production for little money. As a mid-market team, they have to make the most out of these things and this is a bad decision. Now there is a great chance neither happens, but the Twins didn't put themselves in position to benefit if that comes true. This just adds to my belief that Falvine duo is clueless.
  13. How about Turner/JD/Brantley at DH best available defensive SS in trade and load the damn pen. Rogers, Green, Chafin, Fulmer etc. get 3 of them
  14. And this is a startling trend during the Falvey era. For a team dead set on being right in the middle of payroll, those are the players that you should be aiming for
  15. Ok but they could have improved the team by focusing on guys like Bassitt, Abreu, Contreras, Senga, Bell etc but instead they tried to live in their little fairyland that they could get these stars and they didn’t stand a chance. Now the offseason is shot
  16. Time to burn it all to the ground. Can’t force Pohlads to sell but can bring in a FO with a pulse and a plan. The most embarrassing offseason in years. Only way to improve team now is decimate the 23rd ranked farm system. wow, just wow
  17. Rodon wants 200. twins would only offer Correa 285. I just see no way the twins would ever offer more than 140 to Rodon. Yankees will likely blow that number away
  18. Why is 90% of this related to Correa directly without pointing out the FO? They offered Correa less money than Turner got and put all their eggs in that basket. There was no chance Correa was going to say yes to that deal. Everyone knew he’d get around 350. He owes Mn nothing and I’m sick of people expecting that. So now what?
  19. I’ll be tuning out this year if they decide not to do anything in free agency. I’m not wasting my time watching a team owned by people who simple don’t care
  20. Also they can’t sign Correa at 350 million then fill in the rest of the roster with more cheap junk. Fans won’t tune in for that, and no team will fear this team. however if they were to go with one of the below options that would make this team a contender Correa, Bassitt, Vazquez, Taylor Rogers / Chafin, 70-80 aav or Swanson, Rodon, Vazquez, Rogers/Chafin 70-80 aav
  21. Arraez isn’t going to bring back any pitcher anywhere close to those players without significant prospects as well. You obviously cherry-picked one small part of my post because If you think Arraez’ batting average is going to net an ace or even a number 2 then you’re crazy.
  22. I’m pretty late to this thread but I just don’t think Arraez has as much trade value as people think he does. He doesn’t play a position well and doesn’t hit for any power. He’s virtually unplayable against lefties (one of the worst OPS in the league) and he’s consistently dealt with some nagging injuries. He simply wouldn’t bring back the pitching talent people would want. Also, fans would be livid. He’s a valuable player but average fans see batting average over .300 and go absolutely nuts. It’s 100% the most important stat to fans that really don’t know a lot about baseball. For those reasons I don’t think it’s worth trading him
  23. I don’t understand pointing to his inconsistency by showing his results as a starter. Sounds like the teams he was on did a poor job recognizing he wasn’t starter material. he’s held Yankees hitters to a .309 OPS this year. That’s all that matters to me
  24. Another bullpen meltdown? It’s been pagan every damn time. Twins more interested in making friends and being a safe place than winning actual games. Rocco promotes analytics but ignores them every time they don’t fit his narrative. He’s a horrible manager and holding this team back. Falvey relishes on the opportunity to do more with less even though he’s failed more often than not. He just won’t admit when it’s time to re-evaluate and re-tool. Bullpen is so cheap to upgrade and he is stubborn.
  25. Rockies are among the worst teams in baseball away from their insane home field advantage. Absolutely embarrassing loss. Free fall doesn’t seem like it’s ending anytime soon.
