I was upstairs in the crow's nest (section 319). Some observations
Just a delightful game on a gorgeous day. Ugly as sin (5 errors without counting the ball the RF misjudged for SF) but when we have slept through so many Twins snoozers, seeing all those guys running around was like Christmas.
Giants left 15 on base. Twins had 11 Ks in just 8 innings.
Taylor had 4 of them and looked absolutely clueless at the plate. Probably something at home, clubhouse issue -- who knows, but he looked bad.
24,000 in attendance and 25,000 of them were kids. Stuffing their faces, running the corridors, jumping up to get on camera/scoreboard. "Get off my lawn kid."
Target Field is in great shape. That condo building in LF going up has to be 30 stories and is going to eat Target Field.
Attending a game w/a friend who is also into baseball is about 11" below heaven's doorstep.
Julien looked good at 2nd despite the rap.
Wallner has a rifle for an arm, drilling a throw from right w/a Giant thinking the beanstalk was at home plate. Giant reconsidered and scampered back to 3rd.
People can't watch a game without a phone in one hand. Must be looking at Fangraphs. Not.
Ryan was out of sorts. Guessing at 65% strikes? Not his usual 72-80%. Lots of early lumber on his pitches. Not his shiniest game but walked away w/the win.
Didn't realize Castro was as fast as he seemed today (I don't have cable and am provided games by Provus).
Duran set the league's record for speed -- 104.6mph. That's a discussion for another day on the durability of arms given our fascination with speed.
You guys have a ton of information you generously share. Thanks ever so much for it.
