    I think Rocco needs this team to make the playoffs this year to keep his job. Otherwise, three straight underwhelming years combined with head-scratching line-up changes like the one last night should be more than enough for the FO to realize they need a change.

    Yes. They need to shakeup the staff. If changes are not or wont be made by Rocco then his time here should be over.

    Counter-point - he was the guy given the most opportunities to hit and wasn't delivering. Sending down the guy that had the most hits would be a way more shocking jolt to the team.

    The move makes sense. Even last night as I was watching he didn't look comfortable at all at the plate and some swings that were nowhere close to making contact. Get him away from the Twins hitting coaches, go find a groove in St. Paul, and come back up in a few weeks renewed and ready to hammer the ball.

    At some point, preferably sooner rather than later, a change needs to be made with the coaching staff. I find it absolutely impossible for the entire team (except for Alex, because he hasn’t been tainted yet) to be failing this bad if the coaching were even average. I’m looking squarely at our three hitting coaches, and one/all of them need to be dismissed.

    This is what is honestly keeping me excited and interested. I've tempered my expectations, but if we get our offense improved this could be one hell of a season.

    I was complaining about this after the opening series. I could see it then that we had a decent makeup on the mound, but hitting that would be leaving us want a lot more. For once we have a rotation that keep things together, but the margin for error is still very small because of how poorly the hitting can be.

    I didn’t see the game but I have two thoughts: 1) Maeda needs to go to St Paul and figure things out; Bailey Ober needs to be back up 2) Anyone that knows this club could see this loss coming after the way the season series victory was celebrated last night. What better way to celebrate a moral victory than with a hangover-fueled blowout loss.

    I'm blacked-out from watching the Twins broadcast and I'm listening to the Nats announcers. Barely a mention about the weather.

    already an uninspiring start. There better be some extreme discount on drinks for the adults in attendance today, otherwise its going to be hard to spot the difference between the stands and the batter's eye by the middle innings.
