  1. I, for one, thought the back thing was minor, probably an excuse for poor performance at the plate. I apologize. I was never so sure of a prospect in my 40 years of fandom as I was with AK. Kept telling my sons Ihe would eventually be a .300 hitter with 25 HR power on a consistent basis. Such a pure, smooth left-handed swing. Injuries suck.
  2. Let me preface this by saying, I LOVE Nelson Cruz....he was one of my favorite Twins and I loved watching him swing the bat. That being said, he was caught using steroids and to his credit admitted the mistake. I just don't see the Twins, with their conservative approach, hiring a hitting coach with that in his past.
  3. I have never in my life seen a team go into a complete slump for over a month to end a season. Literally, not one player outside of maybe Correa, was not in an absolute funk. Even veterans like Santana looked clueless at the plate. And, seemingly Popkins had no answer at all. He had to go. i said it previously that he would be fired to appease the fans, but it was also absolutely necessary. Is there a Twins hitter that seemingly got better under Popkins? Wallner...maybe. Larnach...maybe. Are there Twins hitters who have regressed/gotten worse under Popkins? Julien, Lee, Lewis, Miranda, Jeffers, Vazquez, and AK (?) I hope it works.
  4. On the radio broadcast Friday...Gladden seemed to be a little critical of Max being "no where to be found" on German appreciation night at Target Field. He made a comment about Max should've/could've thrown out the first pitch, but he was not around. Gladden muttered "C'mon Max". Maybe it was tongue in cheek but he sounded serious.
  5. 91----RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE----NO CONTACT
  6. I'm a bit sympathetic because he's gutting it out, but if Correa hustles on that, he beats it out.....
  7. Bringing in a guy that pitched his 1st MLB inning of the year last night with the bases loaded seems like a bold move Cotton.........
  8. My bad..... Bunt like you have played baseball before and have a clue....... I should've been more specific.
  9. Each team is trying to one-up the other on poor baseball plays.....who get the last laugh???/
  10. My son's t-ball team is more fundamentally sound than this dumpster fire.
  11. I don't think Lewis makes that play at 3B that Castro just did.....
  12. Prove he didn't. It's common sense. Manager has control (or at least a major say) in his roster management...i.e. who stays and who gets let go. JFC...you think Rocco says "i need Alcala" and Falvey says "screw that" we're picking up this pile off waivers and we're sending Alcala out? SMH
  13. I'm not talking about acquisitions....I'm talking about the move to send Alcala down....that's on Rocco.
  14. So you think Rocco had no say in whether Alcala got sent down? I'm speechless.....
  15. I don't know.....2B came within 6 inches of catching that.....he was screwed way.
  16. You don't think Rocco is in charge of his roster?? WTH
  17. Bunt Buxton!!!! Get em over get em in.
  18. I realize Alcala has gone through some terrible streaks, but the fact the we had Irvin pitching the last 2 weeks while Alcala was sitting in St. Paul is another Rocco gaffe......
  19. Jeffers= triple play. LOL---my pessimism is out of control.
  20. No....you have an elite closer. He does it well. You don't just fill in that position with multiple bodies. People who say that anyone can pitch the 9th.....I guarantee those people have never pitched the 9th.
  21. Yeah.....we should trade away one of the two good relief pitchers we have.....I'm sure Tonkin, Topa, Weiss, Thielbar, Okert, and Funderburk can fill his shoes. Heck, bring back Jay Jackson and Cole Irvin. SMH
