    I have high hopes for Rojas. That being said, trading for a guy that seems to be being pushed is a pause sign to me. They still traded for him but with very little track record in the top tier of Mlib. One of the many you hope will work out but shouldn't plan on it.

    I'm not buying Tom's BS. He's trying to play 3 card Monte with the fans. Pablo being lost for this season and a big part of next season is a HUGE loose. Can the young guy's collectively equal Pablo's War (or whatever measure you prefer) sure. Why not? Will they? They play the games for a reason. Still not buying tickets...But will be in the area Labor Day weekend. Make me want to see a game then Twins.

    Man, what a terrible way to start the spring training... hate to say it but I'm sure a few others are thinking/saying it. A couple more injuries and we're looking at a tough fight for 70 wins if we weren't already. Play the kids instead of bringing in some cooked vet. Rooting for a quick and full recovery for Pablo. One of my favorite Twins.

    After further review... 2x better is closer to fair. Way deeper farm, A good starting pitching staff and 11 less losses the last season.

    What happen to the Minnesota Nice??? Honestly, I think we were lucky to have had Falvey and Levine. The whole organization is 10x better now than when they came onboard. I don't think anyone can argue that that isn't true. I'm sure a few will try... Another Terry Ryan 2.0 anyone? I sure miss Bill Smith and his great moves. This whole fiasco we're watching this offseason was started with the "right sizing of payroll" and was bound to end this way. A continued sell off at this point was the only realistic way to reset and try again. That doesn't get renewed season ticket holders. Who's investing 1/2 a billion dollars to see they're shares worth less in 3 months? So yeah, we're trying to win the division...

    I like our catching and starting pitching. Too bad best parts of that will be elsewhere on August 4th. The OF is frustrating to look at. I'm a big Buxton fan...BUT 2 100+ game seasons in a row is about as likely as two winning Powerball tickets in a row. After that we have guys who can't hit or turn into pumpkins if a lefty is one the mound. No need to dig into the BP as long as Tom Pohlad wants to get off this payroll conversation... Should be an interesting 2nd half. Hopefully I've heard of 50% of the players on the team.

    My 2 cents: We'll find out what the disagreement (if there was one) was about soon. If Zoll trades away a bunch of guys before the season starts...Yep...Go big or go home Tom wants scorched earth. If not Falvey wanted more $ to try and compete. In the end, the rollercoaster of Donaldson, Correa, Pablo's extension and Buxton's extension too two offseasons of reducing payroll by 25-30% There is bound to be some exasperation on both sides and probably best for all to have a reset. US fans included...

    I find it hard to give a lot of weight to his numbers from the 2025 season. 1st he wasn't the starting SS until Correa was traded. Second the only position player that didn't look like a failed prospect was Keaschall. Lee, Lewis, Wallner, Julien and Maranda could have the same article written about them. More of less copy, replace name and paste. Keaschall is a rough 100 games from getting one of these articles himself... I'd save this sort of article for when he or they have 1000-1500 Ab and 300-400 games played. But that would mean more trade X for Z and those of late have been getting a 9/1 negative response. So maybe it's just writer reaction to the mood on this site.

    Getting late in the OS. I'd guess 5 mil on a 1-year deal would do it. I'd like Festa there as well but 1/2 season in the set-up roll seems like a smart move. After the Aug 1st sell off then slide him into the closer roll. Assuming things go that way

    Kopech plz. He has closer upside and Stewart injury risk which fits the FO's MO on free agent pitchers. Then fill in with guys that don't make the rotation that can be optioned.

    I may be a little more tempered with any prospect that rolls through A+ and does well in AA. It's not personal to Culpepper. We've just had to many Miranda's or Julien's oh late. WAY to high of expectations for anyone to may be able to fulfill. People seem to think Lee is a wash because he didn't have and OPS+ or a DRS they like in his 1st full season. Check Buxton's OPS+ maybe Kent Hrbek's DPS for their 1st 400 Ab's. Just relax their 1st 400 ab may not determine their career. Sure, I want Culpepper to be a rookie of the year candidate. But I'd settle for a Twins Hall of Fame candidate. ;) Or just a good player that gets to Minn when he's ready

    Kind of confusing move. Must be planning on Jackson getting thru waivers, sticking around and stashed in AAA. As for a trade. Like others have said wouldn't they have traded Jeffers 1st? So, seems unlikely to me. I'd say this is a slight upgrade over last season's duo. Which is the 1st time this offseason I've thought that about the team...

    I say heck yeah put him in the pen. That way by August 1st he should be settled into his MLB routine and ready to take over one of the starter spots that will be open.

    I'd like to say I think this FO has done very well with the draft. For every 1st and 2nd round pick that makes it to MLB and is a "contributor" there's 3-4 that don't. No, they haven't hit any home runs, but lots of single and doubles. But better to hit a home run with guys on base then a solo shot. Just ask Wallner about that... Going to avoid the political posts. My sarcasm, well-meaning or not, will only get me in trouble with both sides.

    Just to scratch the surface. Vientos has had positive WAR in 1 of his 4 seasons. Some are only partial but. If you take out that one good season he has -1.4 war in 202 games. That doesn't feel like a step in the right direction. Ryan Mountcastle seems like a better fit.

    Don't worry boys and girls. Falvey is out of town on a scouting trip to the island of misfit toys. He will be back with some fresh signings in a couple days...

    I believe the baseball ownership bylaws explicitly say any debt attached to a team can only be baseball related. Not that a slippery accountant can't work around that. I'll give Joe and Jim credit for signing big free agents and the rightsizing after that. Covid and the collapse of TV revenue was beyond their control. Hopefully Tom will be more of a steady hand. Not cheap, but willing to spend big to get over the hump to deep playoff runs. I don't think we'll find out which for a couple seasons.

    I would have preferred a trade for Mountcastle. Same salary more upside potential. But that'd cost a DSL player..I suppose that's it for signings till Larnach is traded or some 40-year-old relief pitcher runs out of patience.

    Mountcastle is a rental, so it fits the FO's MO at 1st base. Maybe a part of a bigger deal. Moving some starting pitching (say Ober or SWR) for Mountcastle and prospects wouldn't be the worst idea.

    I get the looking for something outside the box. Definitely hit that on the head. Problem is Adrams isn't an upgrade at 3B, SS or 2B in any way expect stealing bases. Now if you said Jame Woods. I'd be...we already have too many OFers already...but heck yeah. Keep fishing the next one could be a keeper.
