  1. Based on 2023? Miranda: 40G .211/.263/303 Julien: 109G .263/.381/.459 (check his splits, Platoon player) Lewis: 58G .309/.372/.548 Hands down Royce. One of the things Falvey mentioned is they want to get more athletic. I expect one or both of Larnach/Wallner to get traded this offseason. The acquired LH outfielders make more sense if you're moving one or both of them. Wait need to add...Except Outman..Head scratcher...
  2. Not really much different than giving someone an extension based on 47 games (Anthony) Say 2023 stats. (58 games) 308 avg, 372 OBP, 548 SLUG. Yes, I know this season's stats. The 2023 player is still there. If I'm extending someone based on talent, he the only potential star position player besides Buxton.
  3. Keep in mind Boston can afford to extend young guys and be wrong. Not every extension is a Ronald Acuna. Lewis with a Buxton type of contract would make a lot of sense to me. But again, Boras is his agent...so... Keushall would be my 1st choice though.
  4. My money is on Culpepper soon and for a long run. Hoping for a Twins Bo Bichette. Houston's bat will determine if he can surpass Culpepper. I like Lee but not sure he stays at SS long term.
  5. It's early yet but like what I've seen. Actually, look like they're having fun instead of standing at the time clock. No P.... words
  6. I've gotten comfortable with Clemens as our 1st baseman going forward. A RH platoon bat would make some sense, but they'd need to be able to play elsewhere as well. That kinda rules out Sabato and IDK who on the farm fits that description. I really don't think the Twins missed out on Walker. The Astros seem to be making a habit of killing 1b careers.
  7. I think you may be implying something... You must have missed the sky is falling post
  8. Just a random thought about Thursday's fire sale...What if, on top of ownership (present or future) wanting a reduced payroll, Falvey factors in the likely work stoppage/lockout after the 2026 season? This trade deadline and this offseason would be the best time to set a team up for after that lock out. Not trying to give any cover what-so-ever. BUT if that were true you certainly wouldn't want to advertise it before you traded away your other big pieces. I know, I KNOW. No, I'm not interested in buying that bridge your selling. Just a random thought...
  9. Disappointing day yesterday. But from the "right sizing payroll" comment this was bound to happen if the sale of the team didn't happen quickly. If I put on my rose-colored glasses the starting pitching actually improved, offense is about the same and of course the BP is a wasteland. Who need a BP when you're going to score 2 runs a game. Bring up K. Culpepper (from AA), Martin, Julien, Maybe Eeles and activate Keashall, Morris, Raya, Lewis, Priellip and Urena for the BP. Roll with it. Don't have the exact number their short on players..;p
  10. WOW!!! Falvey must have stopped and filled a couple gas cans on his way to work this morning. Burning down the BP and the SS as well...
  11. A bit light IMO...A likely starter and may free the FO up to move Ryan. I like the catcher and think Adel will be a solid starter, Just not the excitement of Duran coming out the the BP..
  12. Great point. VERY hard or argue with. My only defense is I'll take Kyle Schwarber as a Twin over idk... Anthony Volpe. 10 time out of 10. But I am cherry picking there.
  13. I think you may be a bit too far down on the current Twins players. Wallner, Larnach and possibly Clemens should all get more to much more than a lottery ticket. The rest that'd be nice to get a ticket out of.
  14. BUT, throw say Morris in the mix, and they add in a couple lottery tickets and maybe you can get an upper end starter for a dominate reliever and a possible starter. It could happen. Clocks ticking on the Phillies window.
  15. Sometimes I wonder if there is ever a right answer to the wild swings of fandom of a team. There will be complaints either way....Endlessly... IMO. This team have been stuck in this rut for way too long. Shake things up. Trading expiring contracts doesn't do that and rolling it all back again...Also doesn't. I personally think trading 1 or the 3, if an overwhelming offer, is the right thing to do. I believe they will receive more than 1 of those types of offers. Falvey and company have made some really good trades on the sell side of the deadline. 2 of the three mentioned came from deadline trades. Sure, fire Falvey maybe we can get another Bill Smith run or a 3rd try at Terry Ryan. Careful what you wish for.
  16. If and only if he and his rep say we are not doing an extension and are focused on free agency in 2 1/2 years, would I consider shopping Ryan. Even then I may hold onto him until next year's trade deadline. That being said, if a team made an overwhelming offer like say the Cubs offered Ballestros, Alcantra, Horton and a lottery ticket or two. That'd be tough to pass on. An offer like that you'd have to think hard about.
  17. There's just too many 2 years or less OF prospects to part with Ryan for Durran. I could see the Twins Duran for Campbell. Don't forget the team is for sale. Team assets like Ryan, I would think, make the team more desirable atm. Worth the thought but I'd guess Jhoan is probably tops for any player the Twins would consider parting with.
  18. This was a bit of a surprise to me. Short leash maybe with Festa and Zebby pitching so well in AAA? I doubt it will be a long-term thing unless who is called up is dominating.
  19. And the cheap A$$ Pohlad's only spent money on France, Bader and Coulombe! Paddack wasn't traded for a bag of used balls?? Worst FO ever!! But to be serious for a sec. Great run. Hoping Buck and Correa is just a precaution. Hoping to catch the Sat or Sun game in person.
  20. You keep going with SWR because every inning counts over 162 games. April game count just not as much as October ones. Yes, I know the current record. A guy who get outs over innings is much more valuable late in the season. Inning now K's/9 later
  21. hmm seems like rehab is the answer to the title. After that who knows. I'd like the Twins to sign him to a two-year minor league deal. Just to see if he can actually get healthy and pitch MAYBE 50 innings in a single season. If not, well the baseball gods have spoken and move on. IF by chance he has a few healthy seasons after that, can we PLEASE not have a what if article about it..nvm that will never happen on this site...
  22. I hope for this transition to go well. I'm 50/50 on what I think the results will be. The woulda, coulda shoulda with past players kind of bugs me. We've benefited from it plenty of times as well from other teams' players.
  23. I agree with most of this except the last paragraph. I expect or maybe hope for more of a Jax type when it's all said and done. But not a Hendrik outcome.
  24. I see what you're saying but agree to disagree on this signing. Not much downside a 1M and lots of up. No, he won't play SS in a pinch. But farmer was Meh everywhere last year and nothing special the year before. At 1/6th the cost Nice Bence guy. No, you won't want as your starter.
