  1. Great game for Eddie, but also good to be getting some offensive production from the centerfield position for a change.
  2. Yes fans, 8 runs was a fluke. The real Twins were back in game 2.
  3. 12 hits, 8 runs, it's good to face the worst pitching staff in baseball. Do the Royals have anymore former Twins pitchers besides Boyer?
  4. Brewers scored 17 runs in 1 day. It's taken the Twins the last 7 games to score that many.
  5. What did the Twins ever do to Mike Zunino? They took Buxton instead of him in the draft. Payback.!!
  6. 3 guys don't make a lineup. Rosario, Kepler and Escobar have been the only ones that have done anything worth mentioning. Mauer was Mauer for a brief instant and Morrison was starting to turn the corner but Molitor decided he didn't need to play against Paxton. Maybe a wise decision if he had anyone that could hit to give him a day off but there isn't anyone. Funny how we were overloaded with guys who could play 1B or DH but no one can really fill that role adequately. My question is.... How many times as a player do you have to strikeout swinging at the same dumb pitches before you realize you shouldn't be swinging at them?
  7. No matter how you slice it, the offense is bad. I saw the same thing again last night that I have seen all season. Hitters can't put the meat part of the bat on the ball when it is over the strike zone and they swing at way too many pitches out of the zone. Maybe it's time for the hitting coach to be held accountable?
  8. Twinks are always reluctant to "start the clock" on their prospects. I highly doubt Gonsalves will be the callup for the very 2 reasons you mentioned, Santana and May. A relief pitcher will get the call.
  9. While the pitching has been shaky at times it has been the hitting that has been the most disappointing. Are we to believe the lineup is just in a funk or was the end of the 2017 season just a fluke? Injuries and cold weather aside this lineup has been anything but productive. Kepler has been solid. Morrison might finally be coming around. Rosario and Escobar can only carry a team for so long. Mauer is NOT a run producer. He can get on base but rarely drives in runs. Dozier can carry a team when he's hot, but when he's not, he stinks. Sano can't stay in the lineup, period. Buxton still looks overmatched. I've seen enough of Grossman, Adrianza and whoever is catching that I wish they'd all just go away. So far this season they are 11-6 when they score 5 or more runs and 8-17 when they score 4 or less. Pretty obvious they need to crank up the bats.
  10. And why should Escobar and Rosario be expected to carry this team every night? There are other guys in the lineup that they aren't getting any run production from. When was the last time Mauer drove in 3 or 4 runs? How about whoever is catching? No production from that spot lately. Yes Morrison has been a bust. Adrianza has done nothing. So, Dozier and Keplar delivered last night.... Where's Sano? Where's Polonco? Where's Buxton? Those 3 bats were suppose to be a big part of the lineup resurgence. Only 4 of the 9 guys in the current Twins lineup are producing runs, Rosario, Escobar, Keplar and Dozier. The other 5 aren't tough to pitch to and other teams know it. And yes, Berrios looks like an Ace 1 minute and a lost little leaguer the next. His command of his pitches is a guessing game at this point. He's got great movement on his pitches but he doesn't know where it is going once he releases it. Not good!
  11. "Assuming Castro isn’t gone for long, catcher is set." This makes me laugh. He can't hit a barn and Garver is unproven. I'd rather see them get a catcher that can produce a run or 2 every once in a while than an upgrade to the 4th outfielder spot.
  12. Wow, Garver has doubled Castro's production of 1 HR and 1 RBI. He's got 2 HR and 2 RBI's. When you consider how many games we are into the season already, that is really sad. Only 3 runs accounted for from 1 spot in your lineup.
  13. Mauer has 1 thing on his mind when he goes up to bat. WALK! He's the opposite of Kirby Puckett. Puckett would hit balls for base hits that were a foot off the plate. Mauer won't swing at anything (unless he has 2 strikes on him) that is right down the middle.
  14. Well if that is the case I hope Mr Pohlad is going to be happy with another losing season. When a decision is made to keep players that can't perform you are basically telling fans that you don't care. I hope Target Field is a ghost town by Memorial Day.
  15. Let's face it. The Twins don't have a pitcher on their roster right now that can get anybody out on a consistant basis. I've seen enough of Hughes, Duffey, and Rodney and all 3 should go bye, bye. I don't care what they are getting paid, they are costing the team wins and that isn't worth any amount of money. When they go send Castro with them. I don't know about the rest of you but the Falvine experiment is starting to worry me when Castro was their first big addition to the team. The guy just can't hit, PERIOD. There's been a couple guys who he reminds me of..., John Ryan Murphy and Drew Butera. I'll take Kurt Suzuki back please. At least in his worst season with the Twins he hit .240.
  16. There is sooo much wrong with this team right now that it is starting to reflect badly on the Manager and Coaches. The catcher situation is terrible, the bullpen is terrible, the discipline/strikeouts by most of the hitters has been terrible.
  17. The whole team is playing like sheet except for ... Dozier and Berrios. Glad to know that the Team has no intention of keeping Dozier around after this season. Too bad Berrios can only pitch every 5th day. NO production from half your lineup and hit and miss production from the other half, plus only 1 good starter and no bullpen will get you 100 losses again.
  18. I vote send Hildenberger down. He's had a rough spring and could gain some confidence back in AAA. Keep Moya and Kinley on the big roster to start the season. I don't understand the whole purpose of giving these guys the chance to prove themselves in spring training, perform better than others, and then they get sent down anyway. Are all organizations like this or is it just the Twins way?
  19. If there is $2.5 million to throw away on Sanchez then why not use that EXTRA money that can be thrown away and add it to an offer for a good pitcher? These guys think quantity is better than quality. What a joke!
  20. Why are we signing Detroit Has-beens? First Rodney now Sanchez.
  21. Guess Falvine is just really Terry Ryan in disguise. More dumpster diving. Really, what is the point of this signing? I was planning to go see them play this year but with acquisitions like this, it won't happen.
  22. Why would a veteran DH/1B type player like Napoli even be on the radar? Just because he has some power and hits right-handed is no reason to even go down that road. We have a player that fits that mold already in Sano. Yes, it's a given he's suppose to be the everyday 3B but everything else points to him being a DH/1B. Let's forget the aging washed-up dumpster diving veterans for once. If we are going to add a right-handed bat, get someone really good or forget it. Geeze I'm tired of settling for the old cheap crap!
  23. I would tend to agree with this as well. Pineda won't be ready mid-season. I wouldn't break the bank for Darvish. He's just not a stud pitcher. Only threw more than 200 Innings just once in his career and gives up his share of gopher balls. Yes, he has better career WHIP and ERA than Cobb or Lynn but I think he's just going to cost too much and throw in the draft picks and he really starts to get expensive.
