  1. I agree, No point in releasing Morrison. Sure, he's been a major disappointment this year. but I keep hoping he'll get hot before the month is over (hmm... not much time left) or in early August, and then maybe maybe maybe some team will give up a low level prospect for him. Gotta keep hoping for a miracle.
  2. I hope the Twins don't reconsider trading Dozier (if indeed that is their plan) just because Gordon is struggling. But darn, his lack of progress at AAA is definitely a huge disappointment.
  3. Those of us who blinked probably DID miss him during his very brief tenure with the team.
  4. My somewhat blurry crystal ball says: Dozier and Lynn are traded this month. Duke is a possible one too. And then in August we unload Santana and Rodney on waiver claims. As to which teams want these guys, all I know is what I've been reading, but who knows?
  5. The bats are starting to come around, every so slightly. Seeing signs of life with Mauer again, and even Kepler and Grossman are looking better.
  6. At least there is something to be excited about in the Twins' minor league system lately. As much as we'd all love to see Kiriloff and Lewis make their MLB debuts ASAP, I think it's wise to be patient for another year or two. Meanwhile, sign me up for a seat on the Thorpe bandwagon. Great to see him pitching so consistently well lately.
  7. The Brewers now need another starting pitcher after Suter just got injured and will need TJ surgery. I'd like to keep Gibson, but would gladly offer them Lynn or Santana for some low level prospect. Or package the pitcher with Dozier and aim higher?
  8. The good news on Buxton is that he is suffering from a left wrist strain and not something more serious. I'm not sure if that's good news or not. Every year, over and over again, we are seeing these nagging injuries with Buxton. Granted, some are minor, but some that require extended DL stints. Is it just bad luck or is the guy simply injury prone?
  9. Reading that caption you put above one of the video links: Brusdar Graterol coming at you at 100 mph. Man, how exciting is that! A Twins pitcher with velocity? What a concept! Some exciting prospects on that list.
  10. Trevor May pitched an inning of relief sending down all three batters he faced. Okay, I'll be annoying and ask: what does "sending down" mean? Did he strike out all three batters?
  11. When I saw that Snell was starting for Tampa Bay, my first thought was: oh no, another Twins loss coming up. What a pleasant surprise to be proven wrong. Great game by Gibson! Just the idea of calling Kyle Gibson an All-Star was preposterous a year ago, but now he's certainly pitching like one.
  12. So many choices of players who could and should break out in the second half. I'll roll the dice and pick Buxton as my (very hopeful) choice to click.
  13. Another great catch by Cave. Good to see him getting some love from the fans. And how about that "laser throw" by Rosario to nail a runner trying to score? Good stuff! At least we seem to be able to catch and throw the ball well lately.
  14. I'm hoping that Dozier catches fire this month and some team will take a gamble on him having another torrid second half, along with the "veteran leadership" factor. But which contending team might be needing a second baseman down the stretch? Someone mentioned the Mariners, who are without Cano for the time being (and who would be ineligible for the playoffs even after he comes back), but I can't think of any other team off the top of my head.
  15. I would think that Lance Lynn might end up being our most valuable trade chip. It seems to me that a contending club in need of another solid starting pitcher (albeit, one that can't seem to pitch more than 5 or 6 innings at a time) would grab him.
  16. At this rate I think it's more likely that we see the return of Johan Santana before we see Ervin Santana,
  17. An impressive starting pitching performance, a couple of player with multiple hits. Not a bad game! Then again, we were playing the Orioles.
  18. Well, I think it's obvious that we're sellers as opposed to buyers at this point. Even more so than last year, before our nearly miraculous turnaround. I don't have much hope that this raggedy group of available players will get much in return, but I'm all on board for getting rid of those that have no immediate future with the club. Call up this new wave of players and let 'em play!
  19. I still subscribe to the crazy theory that Belisle has incriminating photos or videos of someone in the front office!
  20. I have to agree with that. The frequent calling players up and then sending them down again quickly (often after only one game) strikes me as counterproductive. This is development?
  21. That darn Broxton robs us again! Time to brush up on my voodoo doll making skills!
  22. At one point even Vargas had some of that highly valued "potential" too. You just never know in this darn game.
