  1. Mudcat, Worthington, Smalley, Goltz and R. Davis.
  2. Evan Drelilich of the Athletic talks about how many teams, perhaps half the teams by opening day next year, have taken a reduction in television rights fees. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5896621/2024/11/04/mlb-broadcast-uncertainty-franchise-values-twins/
  3. I went to my pool this morning at 7:30 to get ready for a swim at eight. The front desk employee was arguing with an elderly woman who was already in the pool and apparently hadn't heard that daylight savings had ended. "But look at the clock, it says 8:30." Finally he gave up.
  4. Per Joe Nelson of SI.com, citing MLB.com's Mark Feinsand: https://www.si.com/mlb/twins/minnesota-twins-news/report-twins-moving-on-from-infielder-kyle-farmer-01jbkxhqepse
  5. Since Kirilloff is now on the 60 day IL, it seems likely that his last option will not be used this season. I can't imagine the Twins will offer him arbitration this off-season though. If in fact Kirilloff is not offered arbitration and becomes a free agent, does that option then expire?
  6. I'm not sure we should assume this. The trade deadline is fourteen days away. I haven't read anywhere that he has even started baseball activities yet.
  7. He's now listed as tonight's probable pitcher on MLB.com.
  8. They'd make a great comedy team.
  9. According to his wikipedia page, he fractured his shoulder blade that season.
  10. Falvey declined an interview. Levine is listed later in the article as still a candidate.
  11. The only way he would be subject to the Rule 5 draft is if he signed another minor league contract prior to the draft.
  12. The qualifying offer is expected to increase to $20.5M this off season, according to Joel Sherman of the NY Post. Sonny Gray is listed as a player who will probably receive an offer. https://nypost.com/2023/09/20/mlb-qualifying-offer-to-be-around-high-of-20-5-million/
  13. Yep. His homer in game one of the '65 World Series. Don Drysdale supposedly told his manager after the game "I bet you wished I were Jewish too."
  14. This podcast about a NFL player survey of workplace conditions. An interesting discussion. https://freakonomics.com/podcast/when-is-a-superstar-just-another-employee/
  15. CBSSports.com reports this morning that Buxton will not accompany the Saints on their six day road trip. The cited source is the StarTribune, but I couldn't find the source article. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/twins-byron-buxton-takes-pause-in-rehab-assignment/
  16. They could also keep Gordan at AAA on a rehab assignment until rosters expand to 28 in September. I don't believe he has even received clearance yet to begin baseball activities. A rehab assignment isn't imminent.
  17. You probably could have worded that a little differently. : )
  18. The 2024 option vests with 550 plate appearances in 2023. He's only had 127 PA so far this season.
  19. Mlb.com reports that Jon Gray of the Rangers has been scratched from tomorrow's start. https://www.mlb.com/news/rangers-injuries-and-roster-moves
