  1. A friend and I both decided to live on campus one summer during college. Neither one of us had any money, so we couldn't really do anything. We couldn't even afford to eat some days. So every night we'd sit in the dorm room (hungry) and either listen to or watch the Twins play. My friend knew quite a lot about baseball, so we'd talk/argue throughout the games. It was the summer of 1984 and the Twins were in contention for a playoff spot until late September. I went from being a football fanatic to a baseball fan that summer.
  2. Mark Feinsand quotes a GM that the Twins asking price makes it doubtful Berrios will be traded. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-executives-expectations-for-the-2021-trade-deadline
  3. The post title says "Part 1." I assume there is a "Part 2" on it way.
  4. Darren Wolfson tweeted at the time of the signing that Law's minor league deal includes an opt out provision. The opt out date isn't stated.
  5. As long as he knows when to fold 'em.
  6. I was wondering if anybody would catch it.
  7. Glenn Borgmann Jim Holt Vic Albury Ray Corbin Dick Woodson Joe Decker Grady Alderman
  8. Sam Dykstra at milb.com had an interesting write up yesterday on Ryan Jeffers. https://www.milb.com/milb/news/toolshed-ryan-jeffers-trying-to-become-minnesota-twins-threat-313325916
  9. Rocco Baldelli called it a “very mild sore shoulder” a few weeks ago. The linked article from 25 February says Larnach is on a throwing program and working his way back to playing in the field. https://www.duluthnewstribune.com/sports/baseball/4969976-Twins-prospect-Trevor-Larnach-impresses-despite-sore-shoulder
  10. According to this post on MLB Trade Rumors, Hardy has an opt out in June. The actual date isn't listed. There's also an opt out provision if he receives an opportunity to pitch abroad. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/11/twins-to-sign-blaine-hardy.html
  11. Each received one year $6.1M contracts. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-hot-stove-rebuilding-tigers-sign-c-j-cron-and-jonathan-schoop-to-one-year-contracts-per-reports/
  12. That would depend on how often you're giving it away for free.
  13. Nobody is keeping track.
  14. Some people enjoy reliving games from 50 years ago. Other people enjoy writing about the Twins 38th best prospect.
  15. Truly a frustrating season for all the team's fans.
  16. I think that's right. The claiming team would get him with three option years left and wouldn't need to keep him on the 25 man roster for all of 2019, unlike the Rule 5 draftees..

  18. Hopefully it wasn't a wet dream.
  19. FYI, the qualifying offer amount in 2017 was $17.4 MM. So $18.0 MM is probably a closer estimate for the 2018 qualifying offer amount.

  21. Seth - the link in your post is to the 22 Mar 2018 podcast.
  22. Ok. I didn't realize that. Thanks.
  23. I think the report that Boshers still has an option may be a mistake. According to his profile on mlb.com, he was optioned by the Angels in 2014 and by the Twins in 2016 and 2017.
  24. Eduardo signs for $4.85M.
