  1. A. No trade clause. 2. Who would want him? D. His value is Mariana Trench low.
  2. The strategy should be all about 2024. If we make the playoffs because we are the best of the worst, great. But absolutely no rental players because we aren’t winning the WS this year. The bullseye should be on 2024.
  3. I 100% agree with your first sentence. He had the one good season where it look like he put it all together followed by a dud last year and a bigger dud this year.
  4. This might be a dumb question but I know his contract his some "step ups" in it meaning if he does "x" he gets a bonus. Are games played part of his potential bonus money? And if yes does it matter if it is as DH or in CF? Would that be a factor as to why they continue to play him so he gets paid?
  5. The question should be "What to do with management that keeps batting him third..." Buxton is going to be a Twin for the foreseeable future. Can't trade him because he has no trade value. It's on Buxton that he looks like a Division II baseball player at the plate right now. It's on Twins FO and Rocco for not doing a thing about it.
  6. Hard to fathom a guy hitting less than .200 still plugged in at the top of the batting order every game or in the lineup at all. Shame on baldelli and the rest of the twins brass for not benching or putting him on IR. He’s not producing as a DH and is a gaping hole there. If he physically can’t play CF then he needs to be IR’d. Simple.
  7. In a perfect world one of the top three college guys fall to 5. This is about as good as we could’ve hoped for.
  8. What do you all hope to see the Twins do at the deadline? Blow it up? Get a top end bat or two and turn this thing around? Stand pat? Because this team is not a WS contender but still make the playoffs because there division is terrible, I think they should not make any splashy moves unless they get an offer for Sonny Gray they can't refuse. I am a big believer in trading your prospects if it bolsters an already contending team. This is not a contending team and might make the playoffs with a losing record. So I do not believe we should by buyers. We do have some attractive pieces that I think the twins should take phone calls on but only trade if they offer is way too good to pass up.
  9. No one would be complaining if he were hitting .280 and 25 HR's. Problem is he has only hit more than .280 once and hit more than 25 HR's once. He hit .300 in 2021 and we all thought a star was born. He hit 28 HR's last year...but hit .224. Why was/is there so many high expectations for him as a hitter?
  10. Was 2021 Sano worth what Buxton is getting paid? That's basically what we have right now. Compare the stats. So if this is the new norm then yes we overpaid.
  11. "When the Twins signed Byron Buxton to his $100 million extension it was a steal." False. I would say it had the potential to be a steal if he could play CF and produce at the plate. Neither of which are true. His contract appears to be anything but a steal at this point.
  12. His defense is his greatest asset. That is a huge chunk of his value. His contract that all you said was a "great deal" could turn out to be a terrible signing. Compare his season stats to date to Miguel Sano's in 2021. Very similar and I don't recall anyone calling Sano a superstar.
  13. The Twins hype Buxton up to be a superstar. He isn't. He is hitting .220 this year. K's a lot. Sounds a lot like Miguel Sano minus the speed. If he starts playing CF then obviously he is not Sano. But in 2021 in Sano had an OPS of .778, Buxton is at .770, and hit 30 HR's which Buxton can reach, Sano's BA was .223 and Buxton's is at .220. Sano had more K's then games played which Buxton is on pace for as well. So in short our superstar is the 2021 version of Miguel Sano.
  14. I remember when not that long ago bundy was a top pitching prospect in all of baseball for the Orioles.
  15. Byron Buxton hit .224 last season. The only time he hit above .275 was in 2021 when he played in 61 games. The closest he has ever been to MVP was when he came in 16th in 2020. I don't think MVP will be coming to the Buxton residence anytime soon.
  16. You could have that...OR you could have a sexy young thing completely dressed zip by on ice skates.
  17. Hope Buxton stays healthy. He will have a lot of home runs to rob.
