  1. Here's hoping Donaldson and Sano get on track. The team scored 27 runs in 3 games while getting nothing from those guys, so I'm excited to see what the lineup can do once they start hitting.
  2. Twins have started to make some solid contact, unfortunately they are hitting it right at the defense.
  3. That should be it for Dobnak. His control was really starting to slip last inning. He's pitched pretty well and I hope they don't push him too far.
  4. The Twins bullpen looks strong. When Stashak is your 7th or 8th guy things are going pretty well.
  5. Stashak with an impressive inning. It's fun to watch a pitcher with excellent control.
  6. I wonder if Roco will save some of his bullpen bullets and finish it out with Stashak and/or Wisler.
  7. Cave doesn't look like he should ever hit against lefties. Both ABs tonight have been ugly.
  8. Odorizzi and Hill both scratched while Bailey looked rough in his last pre-season start. The rotation is starting to worry me.
  9. May is a guy I'd like to see the Twins extend before he hits free agency.
  10. Followed by two awful semi swings. Sano just doesn't seem fully up to speed yet.
  11. Berrios has thrown a lot of high stress pitches tonight, my guess is that even if he goes back out it will be with an extremely short leash.
  12. Eddie with three swings while not seeing a single pitch in the strike zone.
  13. That was some really poor pitching by Berrios in the 2nd. He threw way too many pitchers right in the middle of the strike zone in addition to walking the number 9 hitter and allowing a run on a wild pitch.
  14. Berrios pitched pretty well in the first inning. Except for some bad luck he would have kept the White Sox off the scoreboard.
  15. Buxton's in the dugout and I doubt he would have traveled there today if he didn't plan on playing in the series.
  16. Whitefield will have to be added to the 40 man roster, but I believe they have a couple of open spots due to Pineda and Romero being on the restricted list.
  17. The bullpen performed pretty well and may be asked to carry a big load out of the gate. With Bailey looking really shaky and Odorizzi going on the IL the rotation doesn't look nearly as strong as I would like going into the season.
  18. Bailey at 24 pitches and not out of the first inning. I'll be curious to see how many pitches they let him throw before pulling him.
  19. There are a few prospects that I hope get added to the 60 man pool once the season gets underway. Balazovic, Sands, Rortvedt, and Miranda are guys that could have been at AA and aren't that far away from the Majors. It should also be noted that there is a lot of redundancy with the AAAA players currently on the 60 man list. Garton/Gearrin, Coulombe/Thielbar, Graterol/Tellis, and Maggi/Reinheimer all seem like an unnecessary duplication where one from each pairing could be released without losing any depth.
  20. CF is unfortunately the one position where the Twins don't have a good replacement waiting in the wings. The only minor league options (Baddoo and Celestino) are at least a year away from realistically being able to compete in the majors, and the rest of the possibilities are corner outfielders who only play center when they have to (Kepler, Wade, and Cave). If Buxton is out for a significant amount of time I'm afraid Lewis is going to be switched to CF and I'm worried that the move would not be good for his career.
  21. Not really any surprises in the guys getting optioned. The only players listed who had any real chance to make the 26 man roster were Thorpe and Romero, but unfortunately they both missed too much time to be in the running for a spot.
  22. The Twins really went all in on college pitchers in the last draft. In the first 25 rounds I believe we selected 17 college pitchers (in 26 picks). There must be some analysis that shows that after the top 150 or so picks college arms are an undervalued commodity. I'll be curious to see how many of these guys turn into real prospects.
  23. Dobnak has pretty clearly been the better pitcher both last season and in Spring training, so going by merit alone he would get the spot. Unfortunately, I think it will come down to how much faith the organization has that Chacin will be able to bounce back, even with limited evidence of that happening.
  24. At this point there isn't any significant issue with guys who deserve an opportunity being unable to make it to the majors. The only players where this might have been an issue were Gordon and Rooker, but they both missed so much time last year with injuries that it's hard to argue they were being held back. I suspect if any of the top end prospects plays at a level where it's obvious they are ready the Twins could make a trade to open up a spot.
