ashbury Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Serious question (I'm sorry about being serious for a second): How about trying out Ryan Presley as a starter? At least, maybe in ST. If the Twins pitching coaches have spotted something in his arsenal that the BoSox pitching coaches missed when they converted him from starter to reliever a year or so ago, then I'd be all for it.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Jamey Carroll got his 1,000th hit. He'd have had more if he had gotten to hit against the Twins the last 2 years.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 The plow, Parms. Unhook it. The direct object. After the verb, put it. Every now and then.

Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Laundry won out. Washing my gym clothes. A stinky job but it's gotta get done. (Nothing that some vinegar and baking soda can't cure.) Lucky me I'm making soup and not doing laundry!! Apple crisp in the morning!

Guest USAFChief Guests Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Hendriks gets ahead, then seems to struggle to put hitters away. That's odd.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 A true bummer to see Pinto leave the game. He is the only reason I take interest in the remainder of the Twin's games. Another season seemingly is ending on a bad note. I wish these guys had the guts to play the spoiler. This team is ruined and beaten down. As a fan, I expected the Twins to be lackluster, but this is almost to much to bare. There is no more fight in this organization. I hope changes can be made.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Hendriks gets ahead, then seems to struggle to put hitters away. That's odd. Right. The book on him has always been... eerily similar.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Right. The book on him has always been so... similar. I'd like a fairy tale. "And they played happily ever after."

Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I hope we don't see Doumit in the outfield next year!
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Anyone who tells me September numbers don't mean anything when a club is out of contention, has this game (and the past several) as my counter-example. Playing against a contender that is hungry means something.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 To be fair, the umpires are kind of rigging this game to make it look lopsided. All the Indians batters have 3 PA while the Twins batters have only 2. How is a team supposed to accumulate hits (and maybe even runs) with so few chances?
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I hope we don't see Doumit in the outfield next year! Outfield bleachers, sipping a soda? I'd be fine with that.

Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Didn't see the Pinto thing. What happened, please?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Didn't see the Pinto thing. What happened, please?Took a pitch off the right wrist area. After a minute or two, went to first, but didn't come out for the top of the next inning.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Hey...didn't you use to be Oswaldo Arcia?
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Took a pitch off the right wrist area. After a minute or two, went to first, but didn't come out for the top of the next inning. Thanks. Bone bruise is what I'll roll with for now.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Thanks. Bone bruise is what I'll roll with for now.I believe the medical staff has already prescribed "rest and rehab." Gardy has him listed as "day to day" in the pregame presser for opening day.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Bi-lateral bone bruise. Those can be tricky.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Gardy has him listed as "day to day" in the pregame presser for opening day. Interesting. Ryan has Gardy listed the same way. / Jim Pohlad has Ryan listed as minute to minute.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I wonder if someone put a Fathead of Sano up near Plouffe's locker.
