Oh no, please share. Now I'm interested if it's doing that for a reason, or if it's just coincidence. I *think* it's probably coincidence, but I'm not sure.

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 7 Posted August 7 The Twins added another lefty in Minter to the pen, I don't get why Matthews is still in the rotation over Rojas. And I'm seriously not giving up on Matthews, I REALLY want to see what he looks like in late inning relief. I think he's this team's future closer; he can drop his changeup which doesn't work and his four seamer is going to be touching 99 MPH once he's a one inning guy. Wedman13 1

Yeah, I think it's been bad load management regarding Rojas. Looks like he's at 51 innings pitched across MLB/AAA this year, and he threw 69 innings last year. You'd like to think he was going to be pushed to 100+ innings and he's not going to get anywhere close. But mostly, I want to get Matthews in the pen and experienced for the role before next year. It often doesn't go very smoothly when these guys are only told they're no longer starters when they report to camp. Patzky, Mike Sixel, Parfigliano and 1 other 4
chpettit19 Community Moderator Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Zebby the injury replacement for Ryan? I haven't seen any official announcement that Ryan is hitting the IL, but I have to assume that's what Zebby being back in the bigs means, right? nicksaviking and Patzky 2

I *think* it's probably coincidence, but I'm not sure. I have no idea how it's implemented, but things are usually more efficient if there is an order, and this sounds like the result of choosing an order as a default behavior at a low level of implementation when one has no idea how it will get used. I expect somewhere there is a way to specify the order when people care. So if you are bored and want to look under the hood at the programatic process, i'm sure there's a point where you could trivially tell it to sort differently just before displaying it, and it will? (been almost 2 decades since i collected a vaguely programming related pay check, so i got no specific, direct or current wisdom to impart... and nominally i was by edumacation on the theoretical side, so what do i know. Anyone know yet for sure if P=NP or not? Or can i continue my rip van winkle life style?) Now i'm curious how it handled the roster changes over the past few weeks. Was it able to include the recent work of pitchers now available but who pitched recently for other teams? Or pitchers who'd pitched recently for us but now on other teams? But i'm too lazy to do more than ponder in a long winded post... Sorry. But i digress... Happy Culpepper day! Church of Kreidler 1
Chris Hove Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 7 Posted August 7 In the 19 games since the All-Star break, the Twins have scored 23 runs (1.21 per game) against opponents' SPs. It's not going to get easier against 2 of the best SP staffs in baseball (Mil, Phi). Maybe something will change, but it would be nice to see the Twins score early, chase some of these starters, and make it a long series for their relievers. Here's to hoping........ Patzky 1

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Minnesota acquired Rashi from the D-backs in a cash swap back in June after Arizona had designated him for assignment. Despite what was then a dire need for bullpen arms, he never got a look in the big leagues. Rashi pitched 17 innings for the Twins’ top affiliate in St. Paul and logged a 4.76 ERA, 28.7% strikeout rate and 11.3% walk rate. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/08/twins-designate-taylor-rashi-for-assignment.html Church of Kreidler 1
