Sam Caulder Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 12 Posted May 12 After two inconsistent seasons, plenty of people were starting to question whether Brooks Lee would ever live up to the hype. Now in year three, the former first-round pick is beginning to prove a lot of doubters wrong. View full video
Reptevia Verified Member Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Really? He’s no Otto Lopez. He has a decent BA in a very small sample this year, and he still is a below average defender.
RpR Verified Member Posted May 12 Posted May 12 He is not an iron glove such as Julien was, but while he has instances where looks fairly good, on the whole he is too slow to be a Short Stop. Oddly, at Third Base in 2024, he had his worst fielding percentage but his Zone and DRS numbers were all Positive to the best he ever had. The only year all his numbers were positive and some in double digits. Right now Lewis fielding numbers at Third Base are dropping every year.
Major League Ready Verified Member Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I have never been a believer. Not even when he was in the minors. Lee was never really dominant in Milb and he is a mediocre at best defender. I would love to be wrong. He has been great for his last roughly 100 ABs. Let's hope this is a break-out and not just a hot streak. Sam Caulder and RpR 2
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 13 Posted May 13 I really hope he continues to play well. It would be wonderful for Brooks and his family and it would be not only wonderful for the Twins... It would be critical for the Twins because all eggs are in the Brooks Lee basket. His failure has the potential to set the franchise back. So Yeah... I'm cheering loudly for Brooks. Sam Caulder 1
