We need some games to talk about

With no Twins game since Sunday, all the trade speculation is getting pretty old. It is time for more games! When Pelf shuts down the Indians (or not) and Mauer lines three hits, we can talk about something. Let's hope the Twins can end their "Friday jinx" tomorrow.

Agreed. We need baseball.

I'd settle for a Twins game.

One thing I find amazing about other sports is that basketball/hockey will have a couple of gaps of this length each season while football obviously has 6/7 days off between each game and it seems normal, or perhaps even plays into the strength/popularity of the sport.

One more reason why baseball is awesome, actual games instead of endless chatter about games just played or soon to be played.

The flip side to that is that in football you have the anticipation to see your team play all week, and if you miss one, you only have 15 more games to see that season. You could miss 16 Twins games in a season, and it wouldn't phase you. There's still 146 more.

That each team only plays 16 games gives the illusion that every single game matters more in football than any one game in the sports who play way more games in the season. There's always time to go on a run to cover those couple losses. Harder to do in football.

Now, for me, we played games 163 in consecutive seasons, and I've always said games in April are just as important as games in September. Too many people don't see it that way. Then there's the expression, ' No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference.' Who chooses which 1/3 are the key games? :-)
