Interesting article from today's The Athletic on life on-the-road for an MLB player.

Unless I missed it while skimming the article, I don't understand what the criteria was for that conclusion...

I think they were tied with the Reds for dead last in road city, not ambience (from the article):

The Cubs were first in stadium ambience, and the Chicago White Sox last. The Texas Rangers were first in facilities, and the Orioles last. The Padres were first in road city, and the Minnesota Twins and Reds tied for last.

 

Look at that, Chicago both first and last in stadium ambience

I'm guessing "road city" is code for "downtown nightlife" with a sprinkle of "weather"

Yeah, this is the ambiance at Wrigley. It might be iconic, and is worth a one-time visit, but it’s a dump.
