Actually they need to move on from Sabato so that they can play some other people at 1B and create some depth. Even if it's not full time, have some of the OF at least learn the rudiments of the position this spring so they have flexibility when spots open up. If Bell gets hurt and Clemens sucks it would be great if, say, Wallner could slide in for a couple weeks and let someone play OF who is good at it. Longer term maybe Fedko or Gonzalez can spend more time there in St Paul this summer and see how they look. Draft is not destiny.

I appreciate that mikelink45.  Sorry, wasn’t trying to reference you.,  It was a couple others that started putting words in my mouth and then stating lies and calling them facts.  Like a simple google search will tell a players age, and one poster in particular is always purposefully misstating players ages to push there opinion.. I was only wanting to say there probably is no good reason to granting him FA at this point in time and I stated it as just my opinion. Nothing more. I just didn’t understand how my opinion on such a small matter mattered to so many whom never replied to my comments.  Have a good day Mike, thanks.

So he's never played 1B but you expect his 1B defense to be better than his below average OF defense. Got it.

Shelty will have his work cut out for him to bring together a competitive team this year. I'm just hoping that includes at least some inspiring baseball to watch this summer otherwise it could be a dreadful baseball season around here.
