Yup, I fully expect they will sign a number of minor league free agents to be signed by the Twins, probably to minor league contracts.

Except, the 3 guys mentioned WERE bargain bin options before solid 2025 seasons. So were Thielbar and Stewart and a handful of other guys in the past. And the Twins will sign a couple more this offseason. But it's also possible they sign a couple 2 or 3 more to actual 40 man deals. For instance, as has been mentioned often in other threads, what about a Coulombe, or Rogers, or Chaffin on a 1yr deal for $3-4M? The whole point of the OP is not to ignore the bargain bin. Again, that's where these guys came from. I think the point is more that these guys are EXAMPLES of some arms that might be actual 40 man choices. Not to say this is the entire list of opportunity additions. TopGunn#22 1
LambchoP Verified Member Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 It sure looks like we messed up by releasing Ronny Henriquez. Kid looks like a potential closer for MIA....even with several of our SP prospects converting to the pen such as Raya, Festa, Adams and Ohl, we still need at least three veteran pen arms. I don't have much faith that we'll try to hard to sign anyone of significance, but maybe we can get lucky with one or two guys like we did with Coloumbe this last year.
Doctor Wu Verified Member Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 Kinley would be a good addition. He held his own pitching in Colorado (or, as well as most pitchers can do in Colorado) but he seemed to truly settle in once the Braves picked him up. Most likely, I fear, the Twins will be searching the waiver wires for new arms this winter.

Probably a little off topic (and nit picky) but the Twins didn't release Henriquez, they tried to get him through the DFA process and back to the minors, but he was claimed by the Fish. The "mess up" was using his options at a young age. Henriquez was out of options at age 24. LambchoP 1
