Tough news for the wife.

Fewer characters to type and you still got beat to the punch by niksaviking, old-timer.

concur.

EDIT: I get credit for "riverbrain," though, no? 1 for 2?

Partial credit. You missed "brian river". Also, "brien rivar".

Hey Chief! Do we drink to the "insert comment of choice here" by Bert?

Yes.

In fairness, he's probably on an electric typewriter.

Do the Royals as a rule not take many pitches for strikes? Sure looks like they are up there to get some swings in today.

+1 Sir. You and Jamey Carroll are on a roll.

Yeah and some kinda loud fouls.

See, unlike him, I got papers that prove I'm not.

/ anymore

That's awesome... You gotta go through a lot to earn them.

Ashbury says "Hello"

Hooray for speech therapy.

Speaking of Blyleven...at the end of his 6th season with the Twins (his age 24 season) he had logged over 1600 IP. His worst ERA was 3.18 (his rookie year), his worst WHIP was 1.17, and had K'd over 1300 batters.

And he had yet to swear on live TV.

KC really looks like they are swinging the bats well right now, but Gibson kept them off the board in the fourth.

See, this is probably what management meant about Gibson not being consistent. No runs in the first two innings, then two runs in the third, then right back to no runs. How do you expect them to get a bead on this guy?

Only because that was before TV was invented.

Is that right? He is certainly doing well today. Also, I have to be honest that given the players he decided to start, his right-handed options to split up his lefties are mostly worse. I'd have preferred 2)Mauer 3) Plouffe 4) Morneau 5) Arcia 6) Dozier if breaking up the lefties is important to him. But, Gardy's magic sauce has led to a strong start and I am enjoying seeing Gibson in the bigs.
Dozier's OPS in day games is .772, at home it is .818. He also has a big right/left split.
