It feels slimy to talk about this, but the latest fire that started today is in an area where a lot of Rams players live. It’s going to be tough to balance real life implications players and coaches are facing with their personal lives, and trying to win a football game.

They’re either going to play out of their minds to boost the community (Saints 09 post Hurricane Katrina) or they’ll be so distracted they will play terribly. No in between IMO.

I think they'll be OK. At least better than the average Joe who's going to go into a reminiscence depression when they hear the diner they've been eating at since they were ten burned down.

These are definitely their 'homes' but NFL players are pretty nomadic. I think as long as their families got out, they'll handle it in stride. And we'd have heard about it if their families didn't get out.

I think you're underestimating the trauma and anxiety, by a lot.

I certainly didn't mean to be dismissive about the situation.  I'm just suggesting that this specific type of trauma and anxiety probably impacts this specific type of person less than it would most of us.

$150 for nosebleeds.  The NFL has no shame, lol.

I think for a playoff game their greed is going to get them over the normal number empty seats.

Yeah, we'll see what those prices drop to about an hour before kickoff.

From PFT:

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/rams-say-35-000-of-their-season-ticket-holders-bought-tickets-to-game-in-arizona

“What an amazing showing by our fans to buy over 35k tickets in initial presales,” Demoff wrote on social media.

Yeah, except that's the thing, the Rams don't have 35K FANS who own season tickets. They have 35K ticket brokers who know LA is a destination city and sell their tickets to opposing fans. What a load of spin garbage.

The Rams will not have an overwhelming majority of fans here, it will be the same as in LA, an even split or worse.

Also...as I found out about 40 minutes too late thanks to having no work flexibility as a teacher.....the LA access code was being openly shared on the internet for Vikings fans.  So many of those purchases during that window were Viking fans too.

As far as pro sports fans go, 'LA faithful' applies to the Dodgers and Lakers only.
