Pure Gardy.....drops Clete Thomas in lineup as he doesnt hit lefties well, but bats Ryan Doumit 3rd tho he doesnt hit lefthanders well either but keeps the teams best hitter vs lefties (TPlouffe) down in the lineup.

Maybe it's just me, but that seems like a reasonable lineup adjustment to me. And I'm the guy who started the "Gardy rant" thread.

Sale in his career holds lefties to a .209/.260/.285 line w/3HR in 397ABs but this poorly constucted team has 4 lefties starting & others in Doumit/Florimon who dont hit lefties well

In Gardy's defense, their's not much you can do with a 3 man bench (THAT is his fault!!) but my main arguement is how the team is constructed

Doesnt Ventura know that you need a scrappy nontalented .220 hitter with .290 OBP in the leadoff spot with someone who can bunt in the 2nd spot.....its in the managerial book everyone gets!!!

There has to be medium between Ullger waving in runners when the SS has the ball and Vavra holding them when the ball is at the wall and the runner is just getting to third.

I didn't see a good replay but I assume the jump would have been poor based on the ball should've been caught.

Glad we didn't take a chance on Dozier scoring on that double over the RFers head that got hung up at the wall, there. Might have cost us a run.

Whether its Twins TV or radio, they always say the move to hold up the runner was the right move (almost always isnt IMO).

Wish there was some kind of sabermetric site that tracked 3rd base coaches when there is a decision to make.
