Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 LOB... I hate large numbers in that stat.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Once you hit the dirt to make a play... Standing up and throwing would be considered an extroidanary effort to continue on make the out. If that's an error... He would have been best for Carroll to just hold the ball and don't try. Errors shouldn't be used to discourage effort.Especially since he and Morneau actually made the play. Error on the Ump.
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 LOB... I hate large numbers in that stat.Umpire didn't help out Arcia much in that AB.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Got all the disciplining in before she hit 6' 2". You woulda had to.
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 What exactly is a Chee-cago Cub?
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 You woulda had to. Nah, she's always been a great kid. Just a little lippy in her mid teens, but that's expected. It sure was fun coaching her until she quit playing softball though.

buckninetyone Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 batters should be able to call time out right before they swing and miss
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Over/under for the LOB in this game: 12.5
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 batters should be able to call time out right before they swing and miss And Pitchers should able to freeze balls in mid air.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 According to BRef, that's only the 11th time all season Mauer has put a 1-0 or 2-0 pitch in play the entire 2013 season to date. That's a pretty amazing thing, IMO.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Over/under for the LOB in this game: 12.5 5 LOB after 2... It's gonna make me angry.

big dog Verified Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 You know, I want to blame Pelfrey for everything that goes wrong in his starts, but his stats aren't always historically dreadful (just really bad). He's had some decent starts, though they haven't been long starts. It's just the sense of impending doom, that everything could fall off a cliff in a heartbeat, combined with the sense that even his outs are hard-hit balls. I also like Jamey Carroll. That doesn't prevent me from hoping that when Plouffe comes back from Rochester he brings Gibson (or, honestly, any other pitcher) with him, and both Pelfrey and Carroll head off toward the horizon.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I'm so numb to Dick's near HR call I don't even flinch anymore even if my eyes aren't on the TV. He got his blood pressure up for that last drive by Mauer and it came up 15 feet short of the warning track.

Carroll's days of being able to play the left side of the infield are rapidly coming to a close, IMO. His arm has gotten pretty weak. The one time they tried him at SS this year it was embarrassing.

That vesting option on Carroll might keep him on the bench later this season.

If he had pitched like he had the past few games... He'd be secure... The problem is that he didn't and now he's got Gibson on his tail.
big dog Verified Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I just can't imagine a future for the team that features Carroll and Pelfrey, and I'd rather give young guys a chance. I'm not quite there yet on Willingham, partly because we'd be selling low. I don't think the market for C&P is much anyway. Nice guys, but we gotta look toward the future. Especially if Pelf is going to keep killing the bullpen with these 5+ inning starts.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Hey... No LOB's that inning... We r making Progress.
big dog Verified Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Delmon struck out against Pelfrey. He owed us that.
big dog Verified Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Nine in a row. Apparently Big Pelf wants to stay on the team.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Delmon struck out against Pelfrey. He owed us that. When it comes to my Twins... I'm just not a hater... But... Delmon I hated... He didnt care so I stopped caring about him.
buckninetyone Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 no teams in the al central are rivals
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Arcia should be fun to watch for quite a few years.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Thank you Arcia for running through the stop sign.
big dog Verified Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Whoa we scored!!! Sweet! Agreed about ex-Twins. I almost always want to see them do well as long as they aren't playing us. DY is an exception for me too.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 See told ya... We just had to stop leaving runners on base... And Boom... And look at that bottom of the order go.
