Shallow third.

It was so shallow even Dick didn't think it had a chance to leave the yard.

This guy's tough on lefties. A real Bastardo.

If RB were here, he'd say POOP.

Are you trying to get him in trouble?

I don't know him that well.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Doumit wasn't the problem there.

2 outs, average runner on 2nd, ground single to right not hit particularly sharply. Even Roberto Clemente doesn't throw out many runners in that situation.

Without another look, I thought Doumit was still playing deep (conservative knowing his liabilities), thus the ground ball was even slower to get to, and then the slow movement into a throw and weak throw. Not saying Parm or someone else would have got him, but with Doumit playing there, there's no chance, none.

Edit: The replay shows Doumit still playing very deep. Granted it's Howard at the plate. I still don't like it.

Pretty tough AB there by Morneausie. With the payoff at the end.

Not to harp on this, but it was Ryan Howard, I think any RFer would have been playing fairly deep in that particular AB.

Perk's got the ol' "at'em ball" going tonight, so far at least. Knock on wood.
