Is this a Rocco ploy?  I guess he feels he's bulletproof when it comes to criticism.  I hope I'm wrong.

Have there been any players who are really good with the bat but not good at any thing else?

I think these are just rookie mistakes. I think he’s been a plus baserunner in the minors. He’ll have to make adjustments at this level.

I was going to write "good outing for Maeda" after he got the K. Now, not so sure. If Morán lets in the inherited runners, Kenta could get tagged with a loss.

Like knowing the outfielders.

As Chief would say: Yes.

Aside from many DHs, Jeff Kent was a great hitting second baseman who was not very good defensively and not a fast base runner.

BS. This is a basic play. There is no point in trying to gain 3 rd base on that play. If you don’t know why then you don’t know baseball which is apparently a problem with the Twins.

Yeah…I’m sure this is covered by coaches at the start of each series.

But seeing is believing 😀

Curious... If it isn't a rookie mistake... Is that because Julien isn't a rookie? Or it wasn't a mistake?

Provus has grown into his role. He has toned down the overwhelming stats he used about 3 yrs ago. Balanced, even, mildly critical even though Pohlad signs his check, paints the visual, gives inning and score frequently. I have come to enjoy him.

I regularly get to listen to Pat Hughes, deservedly honored in Cooperstown this weekend. It's easy to hear Hughes coming through in Provus. Provus was blessed to get to work alongside Hughes in Chicago.

Taking all the way, according to Bremer, with 2 strikes.  Is this American baseball?

Twins standard operating procedure.

Never heard of him. Now, Luis Arraez, on the other hand...

I used the Latin spelling.

There is always a point to getting to 3rd.  Can score on wild pitch, passed ball, infield single, etc.

Radio announcers:
Provus
Hughes
Kasper/Jackson, WSox (good play by play and Jackson educates)
Korach, A's
Wagner, Jays
Dickerson, Tigers
Hamilton, Cleve (quirky but enjoyable)
Brantley, Reds/color (gives ball insights)

Some of my favorites
