OptimisticTwinsFan Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Encouraging start by Maeda. Good command outside of the HR pitch and has solid velocity/good movement. I think he's at least someone that can be a good fire man in that Dodgers role he was in. I'm not sure how confident I am yet that he holds up in a SPing role over a full season, but that's what Ober would be for.

In a way, I actually hope he has a VERY small tweak of some sort. Because if it's just a matter of being this conservative with him, I don't see us ever actually being able to replace Taylor in the lineup with someone that can actually hit. And we going to need that.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Larnach beating out an infield hit… maybe this year is different

If he plays every 4 out of 5 days for the year, that’s way more than any of us expects. Heck, I expected him to have a day off already, so, dunno. I get that it’s what we do here, speculate, but I’d rather not borrow trouble, especially concerning Bux, and just take it at face value until told otherwise. Although, I do wish he were playing. I do consider that a negative on the year, but starting 4-0 … perspective is good.

"Getting plenty of ABs on the back fields." Why some people feel the need to deny, or downplay the obvious, is baffling. As is the need to attack anyone that states the obvious.

OptimisticTwinsFan Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 More hard hit balls than them but right at them or decent defensive plays. Too many short counts against Alcantra. Need to figure out how to get him out of the game and I think we will likely need to walk into a HR to beat him. Doubt we can string hits together.

Beast Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Just got to turn the game on. Woof, that’s an ugly lineup. Nick Gordon leading off against Sandy freaking Alcantara? Is he just trolling at this point?
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Tuned in, in time for a very impressive fifth inning by Maeda.
jkcarew Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Maeda looked like Maeda. The current competition not withstanding, this should make for a very good #5!
