I got a Graduation dinner to attend tonight and I'm not sure how long that will last. I'll probably miss the beginning of the game.

I've got a date with my wife tonight. It should last approximately two weeks, so my presence here on this site will be sparse-to-none during that time.

Speaking of which, does anyone have any good memories of ballparks in the Carolinas? (Savannah or Augusta count for this purpose.) I can't turn this trip into a ballpark roadtrip, but can probably convince Mrs. Ashburyjohn to take in a game - she grew up on the NW side of Chicago and her daddy raised her right so an evening at the ballpark takes no arm twisting. Gotta pick a good one though, if it's my only shot.

 

I've got a list of what's there, of course. I'm looking for recommendations.

My only recommendation, which is totally unrelated to your question, is to have your barbecue "North Carolina style", which means the coleslaw is on top of the meat. It might sound gross, but it works.

OK, I'm still not a believer in this whole Pelfrey experiment. He could change my mind, but this strategy of giving up a lot of deep fly balls isn't working too while right now.

 

...but a few more innings like the 4th will make me question my beliefs.

Should be flying in to the Twin cities in two hours, but missed our flight tonight, so being able to sit down and watch the game now is a small consolation... then the six a.m. make -up flight tomorrow... ugh. After this most frustrating evening, I'm thrilled the Twins are up... it's like novocaine.

Very nice double play there. This team has been a lot more exciting than the last two, not that the bar is very high.

That's the problem with Casilla. Someone has to make him good, and it only happens once every four starts. I guess tonight's his night. I was a big fan of his when he first came up, but that wore off pretty quickly.
