glunn Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I got a Graduation dinner to attend tonight and I'm not sure how long that will last. I'll probably miss the beginning of the game. Congratulations on the graduation.
mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 What's the over/under on runs scored? Until the Boston series, I might have put it at 0.5. .75 lolcarrol and mauer are coming.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Congratulations on the graduation. Yeah, I really didn't think RB had it in him. Long time coming.
mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 They really were crappy last year with RISP...
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 They really were crappy last year with RISP... They weren't too darn good with RnotISP either
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I've got a date with my wife tonight. It should last approximately two weeks, so my presence here on this site will be sparse-to-none during that time. It will only seem like 2 weeks my friend.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Boy, Willingham took a good pitch for strike two.
Don't Feed the Greed Guy Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 ...and he rolls one over.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Glad Mauer came through with the huge 2-run single. I think Carroll got jobbed on that called third strike.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 It will only seem like 2 weeks my friend. Speaking of which, does anyone have any good memories of ballparks in the Carolinas? (Savannah or Augusta count for this purpose.) I can't turn this trip into a ballpark roadtrip, but can probably convince Mrs. Ashburyjohn to take in a game - she grew up on the NW side of Chicago and her daddy raised her right so an evening at the ballpark takes no arm twisting. Gotta pick a good one though, if it's my only shot. I've got a list of what's there, of course. I'm looking for recommendations.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 My only recommendation, which is totally unrelated to your question, is to have your barbecue "North Carolina style", which means the coleslaw is on top of the meat. It might sound gross, but it works.
buckninetyone Provisional Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 liriano is with the pirates and best buy is still in business i don't know what to think anymore
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 liriano is with the pirates and best buy is still in business i don't know what to think anymore Then don't. That's the secret of getting through life sane.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I like the way this game is unfolding, but I'm still leary of Pelfrey.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 OK, I'm still not a believer in this whole Pelfrey experiment. He could change my mind, but this strategy of giving up a lot of deep fly balls isn't working too while right now. ...but a few more innings like the 4th will make me question my beliefs.
mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 63 pitches in 4 innings.. Maybe just 2 more of Pelfry... lol
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Should be flying in to the Twin cities in two hours, but missed our flight tonight, so being able to sit down and watch the game now is a small consolation... then the six a.m. make -up flight tomorrow... ugh. After this most frustrating evening, I'm thrilled the Twins are up... it's like novocaine.
mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I never did like nococaine... lolBooze is better.
mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Dang. Pelfry is making Casilla good...
big dog Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Sorry about the missed flight. Do you get to spend an exciting Friday night in an exotic location? After the game, of course. Very nice double play there. This team has been a lot more exciting than the last two, not that the bar is very high.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Quit telling us pitch to contact works.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 63 pitches in 4 innings.. Maybe just 2 more of Pelfry... lol I would be ecstatic if he make it through six, and we were still ahead.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Dang. Pelfry is making Casilla good... That's the problem with Casilla. Someone has to make him good, and it only happens once every four starts. I guess tonight's his night. I was a big fan of his when he first came up, but that wore off pretty quickly.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I would be ecstatic if he make it through six, and we were still ahead. Amen.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Sorry about the missed flight. Do you get to spend an exciting Friday night in an exotic location? After the game, of course. At home, in Pittsburgh. TC is the destination of a wedding tomorrow. Sorry nothing more exotic or exciting than that.
