Where is Austin Martin going to be at by the middle of next season?

I've always liked Austin as a prospect, and he's always been a guy where I wouldn't be surprised if the Twins call him straight up from Wichita to the MLB. He struggled last year a bit, but he's been raking in the Arizona fall league so far and I'm just wondering when do the Twins give him a shot? We have a lot of infielders who can play his position already, but I feel like he can actually get a shot sooner or later at the big leagues. I just want him to get a shot, but with how deep we are in the infield, I just don't see him making the roster immediately. What do you guys think of Austin?

I'd like to see what he can do in AAA in the beginning of the season. If he adjusts well, yeah bring him up mid-season for a shot. SS IMO is a stretch but I think he could play LF, CF or 2B.

I think his status has improved a bit from his experience in the AFL. This has been a launching pad for quite a few under performing top prospects in the past and I believe it could have the same effect in this case as well. 

As Dr. G said, I could see him up mid-season after proving himself at AAA. I wouldn't expect an every day role at first but more of a get the feet wet and see where things work out.

He changed his swing mechanics at the end of the year and in the AFL. I'd put him in AAA to start to see how well he can maintain his performance against superior pitching before throwing him into the Twins lineup. I do think he's a very intriguing option as the RH OF bat they need, though. OF/2B utility man to start his career seems like his best bet at some point in 2023.

I agree with starting season in AAA at least a couple months. Martin will need to show he can continue his progress at AAA level before moving to MLB. Hopefully, he can stay healthy.
