ashbury Verified Member Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Now I understand why Correa wasn't called to pinch hit in the sixth. Rocco knew that Pagan was scheduled to come in, come hell or high water, so why waste the effort?

That says it all about how banged up this team is. I think all 56 players active for the game tonight are major leaguers right now. It is a tough road to get on to a MLB roster. Think about how many would like to think they could, how many work endlessly in the minor leagues in the hopes of reaching The Show, and then how many actually ever suit up for a major league game. The Twins are weak right now but it is an accomplishment nevertheless to wear the uniform. Besides, I have read numerous comments concerning 2023 that have Palacios as the shortstop until Lewis can heal.

Lots of players injured, makes you wonder if it's really, really, really bad luck or something additional like conditioning/training/coaching etc. Probably all of the above

ashbury Verified Member Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 How many called third strikes has Wallner taken this game? Just two, or did I miss out on one?

RpR Verified Member Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 WHY is Palacios still batting, B Hamilton would have made more sense.

AussieG Verified Member Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Good job from Varland and dare I say Pagan. Pretty weak in the offence department. I'm sure Rocco has some good excuses... I mean reasons why
tony&rodney Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 In the books. Ryan is up tomorrow. Varland looked good. That was all she wrote.
RpR Verified Member Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Jake Cave provided all the runs, but the announcers did not seem to like to have to say that. Good thing the Twins are over 10 games above Kansas City and Detroit or they would be fight to stay out last place. Right now Baldelli is BSing excuses.
