4 man rotation?

Since our pitchers are only pitching  2 times thru the batting order, why not eliminate the poorer performing pitchers and settle on the 4 best? That way Winder can have some help in long relief and perhaps Jhon Duran will get a chance to start. (I love him as a reliever, but I feel he may be too good to be used only in relief.  Wouldn't you like to see our best pitchers more often? I understand that this may not be practical for OBer and RYan because of their youth and the desire to protect their arms, but since they are only pitching about 70- 80  innings or so, why not use them more often>  :)

Right now, only Grey is out, and hopefully he'll be back in the rotation, come summer.  Give it another month and we'll know who we don't want to start for us...or we will be having a very happy summer.  :)

The only way this makes sense is to have Ober and Ryan pitch like a normal starting pitcher and eventually Gray, than piggy back Bundy with Paddack, and Archer with Winder.  (or however with those 4)

I see no chance Duran gets a starting job this year, after basically not pitching last year, they can keep his workload down by pitching 1 or 2 innings at time and giving him the needed rest.

Pitchers over time will get stretched out to 6-7 innings, so don't see need for 4 man rotation. Great Twins have so many options at SP, Gray will be back soon, Ryan, Ober, Bundy all have looked good, Paddack and Archer should continue to get stronger, Winder looks near ready for MLB starting, Smeltzer has done well at AAA.

During lockout, rotation looked like- Ryan, Ober, Bundy, Dobnak, and Thorpe. Glad Twins did not have to start season with that rotation. Things will play themselves out, pitchers will need some rest, have short term injuries, good to have 6-7 pitchers to maintain a 5 man rotation.

I hope Gray isn’t out until summer, that’s a couple months from now. But I agree that we need to give it more time before getting too exuberant about the starting pitching, but they have done better than expected so far. But the potential was there, imo, good to see it come out
